I think we could very easily take Warren if he’s there. I don’t think he will be though.

It could happen.....at this point,Im not really sure who it will be.

I think we set up our oline for a rb,Jeanty if there, but if not,one of the two 2nd rd picks will be rb then.....
I think trenches will be picked before Warren myself.....

Its definetley not like last season when we all knew CW was the pick and all pretty much agreed with Rome at the other pick.....altho I was on the Bowers train....but figured he was not getting picked anyways.

If we draft a TE at #10 when you can very easily argue that RB, WR, T, DE, DT, CB, and S are easily bigger needs.....we deserve to finish dead fucking last.

I'd be totally cool with taking an athletic tight end with a later pick. Taking one at #10 would be downright fucking dumb.

I think there is a handful of players who we will pick if they are there no matter what. These players include Mason Graham, Ashton Jeanty, Will Campbell, Armond Membou, and Tyler Warren. I’m guessing none will be available when we pick.

If Jahdae Barron is on the board at 10 and somehow Warren is too....and the Bears take Warren......fans should riot.

Even Malaki Starks.

That would be beyond criminal.

Shit, Will Johnson most likely will be there and no way should you take Warren over Johnson.

I think we may consider taking the RB at 10...I would be shocked if we went TE. Just offseason drumming up of chatter imo.

If they think Tyler Warren is Brock Bowers, then he’s a no brainer. If he’s there, you take him, unless Graham, Jeanty, Campbell, or Membou are there too. There’s like 7 elite players in this draft. And it’s highly likely they are all gone before our pick. Warren is one of them.

well, bears non tendered Jaylen Jones was signed by the cardinals so the DB pair of Jaylen and Jaylen is off the table. Pretty sure Stevenson is going to be on the shortest leash of anyone this camp. The best way to get QB pressure is having great cornerbacks so Will Johnson gives you two number ones. I thought we had real good backups, just not sure who replaces Stevenson, who, like I said would make an excellent hard hitting safety that could redefine his career.

If none of those 7 "elite" are a QB, 1 of them will fall to us most likely. There's always some interesting picks in the top ten that go against the grain. If that 1 that falls to us is a tight end and we draft them, they better be one of the best tight ends in history, though.

If it helps, here's the last 3 NFL drafts of the top 10 picks:

saw a mock draft on nfl.com where Houston gives up their first, this years second and this years third to move up with Miami to draft that LB from Georgia at 13. Hate mocks, even more when they mock trades, but, we have a TE so draft a TE, we have linebackers for one more year, draft a linebacker that can push Edwards outside and build around for the next 5 years.

Tea leaves suggest Bears are gonna take the LT Will Campbell imo.

…. If hes available. I’ve seen him going as high as 4.
Thats why i posted the last 3 years... as important as O-line is to a successful offense, only 2 were taken the last 2 drafts. And only 3 in 2022. Might be a good sign.

I see the Bears with the ability to take the highest rated player at 10. Even if it ends up a TE. Would rather that then a reach for a lower rated player because you think the Bears "need". Now if 2-3 players are there rated roughly the same, then I can see grabbing the more needed player at 10.

Do to FA grabs, plus 2 2nd round picks, the Bears have that luxury. At least that's my opinion.

If we take a TE at 10, that's as damning of a statement on Cole Kmet as there ever was...but I have a hunch that Ben Johnson thinks Cole Kmet is the goods.

Like I said before, I would be absolutely shocked if we picked a TE at 10. Not just because of positional value, but because the Kmet theory (underutilized/bad scheme etc) is about to be tested and I think Johnson is a believer.

If you get to 10 and the BPA is at a position that doesn't move the needle for you right now because you already have a starter there....then you try to trade back a few slots and pick up more picks and take the guy you want/need later. You market that pick to a team you know is eyeing a certain player at a position of need.

I don't know why anyone in this fanbase thinks taking a tight end would be a good move at #10. It's like seeing your car doesn't have any gas and then changing the tire instead.

Do to FA grabs, plus 2 2nd round picks, the Bears have that luxury. At least that's my opinion.

At this moment in time the Bears have a LT that is average on his best day and below average on a lot of others. And he's coming off an injury.

They still lack depth at DE and you could argue they still don't have an every down DE #2.

You could make a strong argument they are weak at CB #2.

Safety is a concern because Byard is aging and Brisker missed a bulk of the season with a really bad concussion....not his first concussion either.

As it stands right now they downgraded at WR #2/3.

There's no luxury. There are holes to fill. Tight end isn't one of those holes.

Cole Kmet is the epitome of your basic, average NFL TE.

And that's okay. In a good offense that is coached well...he could have a really nice season.

are you convinced Ben thinks Swift has the goods? I mean, he had swift in Detroit, and they signed Monty and drafted Gibbs. Pretty sure ben had something to do with that. We could not pay monty 6 million, but we paid a third down back 8 million a year.
I dont know if there could be a trade of swift to LA that has been speculated with the understanding that we are only receiving a late round pick for not picking Jeanty. It cant be a swap of the first round picks just for swift. We know the cost of moving up in the first round and its still a gamble that 7 8 or 9 wont take him.
I do think Wheeler is going to end up a nice back for wherever he ends up though.
