Sucks starting this thread so damn quickly. Back in the early part of the season I was hoping it would hold until after the first week or two of the playoffs. Oh well, time to start researching.

First things first. Fire Poles. Let Thomas Brown go.

If they do another half ass turnover, we deserve the shitty losing season we get next season too.
Trust me, I'm not arguing on behalf of keeping Poles, I'm simply saying I'm not sure the Bears intend to can him. Maybe they will, it would hardly shock me if they do. I honestly just don't know.

They only give the 1st round here, but it looks as if the Bears will get the Panthers 39th pick along with their own 42nd.
Make that the 40th pick, my brain is fried and I miscounted. Still, having the 40th & 42nd spots, along with our 10th of course puts Poles (or whoever will be running the team) in a good position to make moves in either direction or simply stand put and take those respective picks.

Is there a team that's been penalized a draft pick? Because otherwise, the Bears have Carolina's 40th slot. The Panthers are drafting 8th for the 1st round, meaning their 2nd round is #40 and our regular pick #42....unless there's something up with one of teams drafting 33-39, causing our two 2nd rd picks to drop a spot (which of course I'd love).

Could be a Tankathon error?
Did a google search... only thing that came up was Falcons taking a 5th-round hit for Kirk Cousins tampering.

It's weird, cuz I still feel Poles has done a good job flipping this roster. Now I know the trenches have been neglected, but we are still in a good spot to fix it quickly. We have a nice bevy of picks and a good amount of cap space and money still, if I'm not mistaken?

Him picking and keeping Flus is pretty damning tho. Guess we'll see how it plays out.

$65 mill under i think.
Over 100 O-linemen are about to hit free agency to start 2025 too.

Feel like I'm repeating myself here.

Saw multiple reports Poles was backed into a corner to select Eberflus barely 2 days on the job. (The Bears own website thanked Bill Polian and Ted Phillips for picking the HC.) Also saw Poles wanted to fire Eberflus sooner until CEO George vetoed that decision.

I dont know what else Poles could do if others are overriding a decision that should belong to the GM? And to top it off, he has to step into press conferences and take ownership for decisions not being made by him all the while being careful NOT to throw his superiors under the bus for deciding for him.

Poles has the worst bosses. He obviously has zero help above him.

they need to stay put in the second round. Those are picks that are not "too soon" to draft a center and a guard. Preferably two centers fight it out and the loser starts at guard and backs up center.

Another year of hoping the draft happened before free agency starts so the guys that "have to play" dont have any competition from draft picks.
