cant believe Duke is struggling like they are this year. I really like coach k. I always like to see them do well in the tourny but obviously this isnt there year.

Think about this. After winning it all last season, Duke lost it's four best players/starters to the Pros, while Cook also graduated. Suillamon was kicked off the team. Ojeleye transferred, and Jefferson missed most of the season. How the hell they've won 21 games is astounding.

Ingram will turn pro, and probably Allen as well. Plumlee graduates, Jefferson could redshirt or graduate? Jones will be a Senior. Kennard will be back, Thornton will be back. Jeter will be back, and they get 3 top 15 recruits in Giles, Tatum, and Jackson, and Top 40 DeLaurier. Next year is promising without injuries, but just like losing Irving for most of the season when he was a #1 draft pick you just never know.

Maybe. But when you get countless McDonalds All-Americans every year then you are supposed to win games. Regardless of team turmoil, injuries, etc. He's a damn good coach who anybody in the nation would give an arm and a leg to coach their team. But winning NCOY honors is hard to come by. K has won it in 1986 and 1997 by Basketball Times. And they didn't win it all either of those years. He won the Naismith COY 1989,1992, and 1999, of course winning back-to-back in '92.

Only 5 ACC COY's, '84, '86, '97, '99, and 2000. Not a National Title any of those years.

Really don't know what Manning sees in Mitoglou. He is a one dimensional shooter, who is only hitting 31% from long range in ACC play. He should not be getting PT over John Collins and Doral Moore right now.

This team is just flat out awful though. This season can't end soon enough.

Also, think this team was better without Devin Thomas.

Buzz Williams has VT at 8-8 in the conference. He's doing a good job so far. Landing Zach LeDay and Seth Allen were two very good gets for him.

Winning 8 games in the ACC is actually (relatively speaking) pretty high expectations in year 2 of a rebuild.

Buzz won't, but should seriously get consideration for ACC Coach of the Year. Absolutely unreal what he's done with our program so quickly. I literally don't think we could have been in a worse place than where we were when he got here.

haha, in my defense, that was was a week or two after OOC play ended. Don't think anyone had VT at 8+ wins in conference after the OOC slate.

Only quoted to bring the topic back up. I don't think anyone expected this turnaround in year 2.

Looking at next season, we lose one player, get one back from injury who would have been a starter this year, and if our top recruit gets cleared (for health issues), I think we could be a top 35 team next year.
