We by no means have a lock on a top four spot with how inept our offense has been for most of the year. With how close everyone is from 5-12, a lot can happen the next few weeks. I feel like if you win out and win one or two games in the ACC Tournament you guys have a shot at making it in.

Win out with this remaining schedule:

Duke
Florida State
@ Carolina
Pittsburgh
@ Duke
Wake Forest

I don't think so but thanks for the confidence.

I feel like you could pull off an upset against FSU and go 4-2. If that happens, you’ll probably still need a win or two in the ACC tournament.

Once again thanks for the confidence but I can't see us going 3-3 at best in our 6 remaining games mainly because we haven't beaten UNC since Jesus was a baby no matter how good or bad they are.

As for your Cavs 6 remaining games with Boston College, at Pittsburgh, at Virginia Tech, Duke, at Miami, and Louisville I can see your Cavs going 4-2 or better.

Obviously there will be some teams that will need to win one or two games in the ACC Tournament to even be considered for the big dance with so many teams nationwide being on the bubble this season, particularly in the SEC and Big 10, with a limited number of at large spots available.

Good luck!

If there’s a year you can go there and beat UNC, this is it. Look at what Clemson did not too long ago.
I feel like the best case scenario would be us going 5-1 and likely upsetting Louisville. I just don’t see us beating Duke but stranger things have happened. I do know that going down to Blacksburg will be difficult because that crowd will be loud all night.
I’m thinking that any ACC team that has six wins at this point is probably going to have to win at least two to even be considered, pending of course how those teams finish the season. Just sucks for my other team, which is in a one bid league, so they’ll have to win their conference tournament to get in.

I agree with your post except for this: We were favored at home by 5.5 points to UNC and lost big time and now we've got to play them in Chapel Hill. They seem to own us whether it's at home or away. As I said in an earlier post, most of the time Coach K starts peaking around mid-February, which we are starting to see, and at the moment Duke is playing as well as anyone in the nation and they have great history when in comes to winning ACC Tournaments. If this happens I really think they will be a number one seed of the four in the big dance. I know there is still more basketball to be played but as I said, I think your Cavs have a realistic chance to go 4-2 or better before the ACC Tournament begins. I said on this thread before the season began that I would be surprised if Virginia didn't finish in the top 4 in the regular season and I still believe they will.

I had actually gave up on Notre Dame winning this game but Brey's boys hung in there and got the win! UNC really does suck! What a great time to be alive!

Lately, it seems like UNC is a team that hangs around but has been getting beat at the end of games. You did pretty much the same thing to us by beating us at the last second, so I feel like you can definitely do the same to them in Chapel Hill.
Fourth place is around where I expected them to be this season with four players leaving. I just didn't expect how bad our shooting would be throughout the season.

State's confidence will grow after they beat Duke Wednesday

All 5 of Duke's starters must be out with injuries for you to say that and I'm still not sure if we could pull it off playing their second five.

Well, I know of at least 3 celebration parties I could attend if we beat UNC but I'm not making any plans yet.

I based my pre-season prediction on Virginia finishing 4th or better on their in your face defense knowing that you lost your scoring horses from last year but I agree with you that I expected better shooting from the Cavs this year even with what they have.

Why is Duke favored by only 7.5 points at NC State on Wednesday night?

What am I missing here since they should be favored by double digits?

Correct me if I'm wrong but Duke has lost 5 of their last 7 games at PNC. Four to NC State, one to Mercer.

Maybe it's the other blue team that owns us at home as well as away. All I know is that in the last two NC State home games we lost by 10 to UNC and by 20 to Louisville and I don't understand why a better team than both of these two teams wouldn't be favored by more than 7.5 points especially with how good Duke has been playing lately.

Thanks for the info! As of 4:00PM the betting line has gone back to where it opened at Duke -6.5 but I'm sure the public is doing this since the sharps won't move this line until just about game time if they even bet this game at all. It will be interesting to see what this line closes at.
