If Hurt never touched him, it's still a terrible call.

No, the "Terrible call" and most obvious if you're not biased with Duke hate, is the review of the out of bounds call when the FSU player was standing on the end line and touched the ball, AND even after the review by the Refs that he was clearly out of bounds they still awarded the fucking ball to FSU! I didn't hear shit about THAT call, did you?

Yep, I'm even amazed that Hurt didn't knock any of his teeth out with those elbows that never touched him!

You missed the point. If he didn't touch him, then a foul was called when no contact was made.

The refs reviewed it for quite a while it seemed. They must've felt very strongly about it if they had the unmitigated gall to repossess the ball from the great Blue Devils.

And who would that have benefitted?

Here's a hint. There were 11.5 seconds on the clock, and Duke had the ball, up by 3 points. What is the correct strategic call for Florida State in that situation?

Nope, you missed the point. Hurt won possession of the rebound and had zero space to move or come down with it, that was the foul, and again, he never touched Forest with an elbow did he?

You disagree it was a shitty call or are you just a hypocrite?

Danny Manning is 0-24 as WF coach against Duke, UNC and UVA. Eventually one of them will be the team that lets him pop his cherry against these three. Hopefully tonight.

You mean like Clemson was 0-FOREVER against Carolina in Chapel Hill until . . . . . ?

Yep, I'm a big time Demon Deacons fan tonight!

The refs reviewed it (perhaps with the resources we don't have) and reversed the call. That's a lot different than a player getting a foul called on him if he wasn't even touched and almost had his nose taken off.

FSU didn't deserve to win that game because they shot the ball so poorly. That non-foul foul call was just laughably a Duke home-cooked call.

WTF is wrong with you?

Again, Hurt NEVER came close to touching him, AND Forest(FSU) actually was poked in the eye and lost his contact because his own teammate hit him in the eye! This is the picture of it happening!

Did you even watch the game?

How can it have been a Duke home-cooked call when it BENEFITTED THE SEMINOLES?

Granted, an offensive foul call against Duke would have benefitted them more, but given that that would have been proveably the wrong call, as Douggie has proven, the call against FSU was the best-case scenario for them.

A non-call, allowing Duke to bleed away the few remaining seconds on the clock, would have been far more advantageous to Duke.

I wasn't arguing for an offensive foul call, I was arguing that there should've been a chance for a FSU player to come in for a possession tie-up.

If it was a non-call then Hurt falls to the ground out of bounds.

Worst shooting game of the season for us, and we lose by 5 at Duke. I like our chances if we play them in the ACC Tourney, because it's likely we shoot a lot better, compared to the anomaly last night.

I thought they were going to try to unleash Wilkes, but the score I guess was too close to start jacking up 3's.

And what a terrible foul call on Forest getting hit by swinging elbows.

This is what I have been pointing out to you over and over! Hurt NEVER made any contact with his elbows! You said Forest was hit by his swinging elbows! Or did you forget you said it?

And once again Hurt has to be able to come down with a rebound without hindrance! Hurt won possession of the ball on the rebound and Forest fouled him, end of story

If no contact was made on the play, which I give you- there shouldn't have been any call.

Hurt already rebounded the ball. And if he was stationary while swinging his elbows around, that'd be one thing, but he flung himself towards Forest and stumbled out of bounds. He was out of control.

This is simply wrong and not the case. As stated in the NCAA Basketball Rules concerning the cylinder rule, which is what the official stated at the time of the foul call, it states:

"The cylinder rule applies equally to the offense and defense, and all players are at risk of being assessed a foul when they invade another player's cylinder"

In other words it doesn't matter if he did or didn't touch him, if he invades a rebounder's "cylinder" space he risks a foul being assessed on him. The hindrance to Hurt being able to come down with a rebound in his space or cylinder was a foul on Forest. You don't have to like it, but that's the rule as was called by the official.

Forest had to be preventing him from making a 'basketball move." Hurt was already down with the rebound, then threw himself into Forest, (who wasn't even that close to him), then proceeded to stumble and fall out of bounds. And how often is that call made? I don't recall it, ever.

The earlier possession call was very questionable, but this foul call was outright bizarre.

When you see an official hold his hands out and move them up and down parallel, they are calling a cylinder violation. I've seen it several times this season, not just in this game.
