FSU does it again. We really didn't deserve the win (neither did Miami), but it's encouraging to get the road win playing mostly like garbage offensively vs a respectable, albeit depleted team. Much respect to Chris Lykes.

It is what it is. 4 of top 5 players left early or graduated. Had 2 lackluster recruiting classes in a row. Will be 10 times better next year with experience and Hauser.

If there's a game that defined the team this year, it was that game a little over a week ago against Syracuse. Most years, we would've ran away with that one by the end of the first half and cruised in the second. But this years squad has a hard time winning even when the other team does just about everything to hand them the game on a silver platter.
I'd be shocked if we were even considered for the NIT this year because I see a lot more losses for this squad before the end of the regular season.

And I'd be willing to bet if Diakite would've been thought of as even a 2nd round pick like Guy was, he would've bolted to the NBA as well and we'd be even worse.

NC State has definitely won in Charlottesville before considering they won 28+ games in league play from 1973 to 1975.

They just don't have a viable offensive threat. Last year they could run Guy off screens for a shot, or have Hunter or Jerome go 1 on 1. Diakite went from a 4th option to option #1 and Clark went from like the 7th option to the 2nd. None of new guys have stepped up.

Correct. Defense is still one of the best in the country, just can't find someone that can handle the ball when it matters. Oh well, this is a good year for the young guys to learn.

Oh, absolutely. A natty is better than anything that can be thrown UVa's way. I don't blame any of the guys for leaving, their stock was peak. Besides, we could be in UNC's shoes.

also, i'm all in on this hot take:

there are a significant amount of coaches in Division I basketball that could take the talent on this Wake Forest team and make them a NCAA tournament team

Manning, on the other hand, is going to make sure this Wake team finishes with at least 17-18 losses.
