Whew, glad that game is over at Wake Forest. Best game by Marshall Plumlee....EVER. 18 points and 7 for 7 from the field. Big road win for the Devils.

Sometimes its difficult to put it in perspective that Manning is practically starting from scratch.

Thomas and Miller-McIntyre were good pieces, but that was just about the only talent he had when he arrived in Winston.

The Indiana, UCLA and even the LSU games were a nice tease during a re-building phase, but I still think this is an NIT at best type of team.

Freshmen and Sophomores still need to grow up for the most part.

Tough way to start the conference season with a road game @ Louisville and a home game against Duke.

I believe the secret to Manning turning things around at Wake Forest will depend on the patience of the Deacon fanbase. He has to be given at least four years to get his recruits and rotations in place. It takes time for any program. Good luck with State Sunday.

If Wellman gave Bzdelik four years (it still blows my mind that he fired Dino after three years, while he gave Bzdelik four.), then he better give Manning at least four years. We are playing better basketball right now in year 2 of the Manning era than we ever did in the Bzdelik era. I actually like our core group of players in the classes of 2014 and 2015 with Hudson, Dinos, Crawford, Collins and Moore (who didn't play against Duke, but his potential is through the roof)

I've said this before, but I like Manning a lot and I really believe that he's going to get things turned around.

Should be an interesting game. Brad Brownell does an excellent job to getting his guys to compete in conference play every year.

Wake beats State, 77-74. Cat Barber is a tremendous player, however he isn't getting much help right now.

Important game on Wednesday night @ VT for the Deacs. Really need to win that one if they want a chance at post-season play.

Manning seems to have them going in the right direction after years of stagnation. Your wait shouldn't be long

That's why a "regular season" champion isn't the true Champion in the ACC. Last year the Champions were Notre Dame because they won the ACC Tournament.

Still sucks that a conference is so big they only play at a school every other year. Or, do they even do that? JMO

A round robin format cannot be done in a conference the size of the ACC. The NCAA has a limit on the number of games any team can play. They restrict a round robin because of it. Each team plays 16 conference games so you get round robin with 6 teams and a one and done with the other 4. They rotate each year. Like this season Duke plays Notre Dame once. Last year they played twice. Duke played Louisville once last season and tis season they play twice. Duke and North Carolina play twice every year so rivalry games will always remain. But to your point it does suck that they don't play everyone home and away.
