That would be wild if he does.

Might not be a bad idea for him financially.

He has seemed mostly sane since arriving in Dallas. Execs might think he has matured.

Much like Miami with Jimmy, there are no cap room teams of interest. It would be a S&T to get elsewhere for a reasonable payday, so the Mavs would get compensation if he does.

Agree. There is redundancy with Luka and Lebron that has to be figured out and that isn't there with Kyrie and AD.

I don't think it'll be as bad as Barkley says because Lebron already was in a similar situation in Miami with D-Wade and has been sharing those duties with Reaves this year.

But there will definitely be an adjustment period.

Plus, Reaves was running a lot of the offense already. Luka simply does that a hell of a lot better. The intention for years was to take some of the playmaking pressure off of Lebron. This finally gets to that point. I would imagine they would be staggered to always have one of them on the court, barring garbage time.

They identified who they wanted and got him. Their judgement in that is obviously questionable, but they set a goal and achieved it in their minds. They're clearly more concerned with now over long term roster building. That may keep them employed in the short term as this roster should be very competitive, but it's heavily depending on two guys in their 30s that historically have missed time in AD and Kyrie, while neither has been the alpha on a championship contender.

It really comes off as a middle tier franchise move, more interested in being competitive than winning it all.
Here's the thing.....they could have gotten more picks and some nice players along with salary filler but they weren't going to land a player the caliber of AD....a top 3 big and top 10 player in the League. No way, no how.

They got AD and a good young player in Christie plus a 1st. And will still be a top 6 team when the playoffs start. I expect them to start winning

Reaves probably gone....he could play SG next to Luka but doubt they keep him. Luka, Bron and Reaves? Doesn't make sense.

They can trade Reaves and upgrade their needs. They can get something really good for him.

Where the Hell were you yesterday, Shoppy?
probably like the rest of us trying to figure out who hacked the NBA columnists.

At least its nice to see the Lake show planning for the post LeBron era. But the two biggest whiners in the NBA on the same team is going to be exhausting to watch.

At least there is ample reason for Luka to get in the gym and sculpt a beach body now.

Reaves might be moved this summer though. Could be tough to get good value for him this week. They might have to roll with him the balance of the season (plus Luka isn't stepping right in vs the Clippers).

And Castle is staying in San Antonio, he isnt part of the deal, which I find very surprising

Not sure what the Kings are doing accepting that deal. The 1sts aren't what they seem, they now are severely lacking at PG depth even if they do turn to the kid, and their defense takes another hit. I think the Kings might have just told the Mavs to hold their beer....

How does someone with poor conditioning avg 41 mpg and drops 29/9/8 on 45% shooting in 22 playoffs games last season?

Hold up.

The Spurs got Fox but did NOT give up any of the Hawks picks, Castle, Johnson, Vassell or Sochan?

The Bulls and Kings GMs need to be fired immediately

Bulls did OK, as they were never going to get much for Lavine with that contract.
