Agree with chuck

Agree. There is redundancy with Luka and Lebron that has to be figured out and that isn't there with Kyrie and AD.

I don't think it'll be as bad as Barkley says because Lebron already was in a similar situation in Miami with D-Wade and has been sharing those duties with Reaves this year.

But there will definitely be an adjustment period.

Maxey should have made the all star team
It is downright criminal that he was left off the squad

The silver lining is that he will be able to get some rest as he is one of the top players as far as minutes per game

Maybe over Garland
I don’t think people realize Garland is playing only 30 mpg. His efficiency is Steph Curry like this season. Maxey is playing 38 mpg with less assists in those minutes and his efficiency is much lower. Not in the Trae range though.

Agree...but it depends on what they do from here as well. If the Lakers can get a solid big who can defend the paint and rebound and maybe a 3 and D guy...they could be in the mix. They also need to figure out the Lebron, Luka, Reaves fit.

The Mavs have the easier path because AD and Kyrie should fit seamlessly and they just need maybe a decent scorer/playmaker.

Reaves will be gone if they get said solid big. I think the acquisition of Luka means he is all but gone. Seriously doubt they keep him at this point.

I actually think the Mavs need more of a 3 and D wing than a playmaker/scorer. Irving might be a combo guard but he can play PG since they have AD and Klay to get the ball to....

The gist is Basically he and Pelinka have history through Kobe and he just decided to give him up to the Lakers without doing due diligence

Not really, no. I posted in a couple of other places here that the Mavs have approached the Lakers about AD several times over the years, but Luka was never available, so the Lakers kept saying no.

This time...Luka was available.

I think it depends on the big...if they can get a guy like Claxton or Turner...you give up Reaves. If they are able to get Kessler, then Reaves isn't likely to be part of that deal (unless the Jazz are including another player that fills a need....although they might decide to move him as part of another deal.

And they offered him to 2 teams. A top 5 trade chip in the league

The story from Ramona Shelburne is that they wanted AD and they wanted the trade done quickly and quietly. They knew the Lakers would say yes if Luka was involved because of their previous inquiries into AD's availability. They may have contacted another team as a backup in case the Lakers had changed their mind...but from what she said...AD was the guy they wanted and have for a while.

Have we not learned anything? what makes you think this has not been going on for a bit and they have shopped him to others? Because some reporter didn't tell us?
Well, they just said at halftime of the Bos/phi game the Dallas GM said he made one phone call
