Yes the Warriors aren’t going anywhere and one trade doesn’t make them anywhere near contenders so they may not bother. It’s tough after a dynasty ends.

how much longer do you think Steph plays? Does the team just try its best while Steph is active, and then rebuild once he is gone? Do they try a rebuild while Steph is still there?

I think and hope that Steph stays there his entire career- but it will be tough to get back to contender status while Steph keeps them decent - not good enough to compete, but not bad enough to bottom out.

It's impossible to know, the only certainty is Steph gets to do whatever he wants. If he decides he wants to win again, he can ask for a trade and they will take care of him. If he wants to play it out, they won't move him. Gun to my head he will stay, he has 4 kids now including a baby and I doubt he will uproot the family. They've done so much winning so he may be ok with that. No way to know.

I don't expect them to be contenders for a while. They had a shot if their drafting had been better but Wiseman etc didn't work out. Even Kuminga is no sure thing and not enough to account for the star being way past his prime.

I also doubt they will ever move on from Steph not just for him but also financially, you trade him and do a rebuild and that arena is barely half full all year. His contract is up in 2 years after this one. He will be 39 then...probably most likely he plays it out and retires then.
