At one point it seemed they had done it right and bottomed out when they had injuries, but those picks just haven't hit. Even Podz from last year has taken a step back this season; his 3 ball has abandoned him.

They haven't given them the kind of floor time to make it work. I would deal Wiggins if it was me

Makes no sense to me that Curry and Green were talking as if the Warriors shouldn't trade draft capital as it would hurt their future potential to build the roster. They have control of virtually ALL of their future 1st rounders and a decent amount of 2nds If they're going the rebuild route, they need to start tanking (and/or trade Curry and Green). Hovering around the play-in doesn't help anything except waste a year of Curry.
See above. They will waste years if that’s what Curry wants.

Which is honestly really silly if you think about it. That’s what the Lakers did with Kobe and they are still paying for it.

It's what you do for generational franchise icons. They will never trade Curry unless he asks for it.

He got an extension after trading FOR Westbrook. He must have incriminating photos of the Buss family or something, it can't just be favor extending from his time with Kobe.

Until the recent solid trade for DFS, he has done little since that extension. He did decently dumping Westbrook, but even those pieces are all gone now (well, the promise of a Vando return still exists, but it's been a LONG wait that may finally conclude next week). DLo did net DFS, so that was decent value. Beasley has been great this year (after leaving the Lakers, where he was almost unplayable most of the time).

The biggest issue was the Westbrook trade. His stars wanted him though and Pelinka capitulated. Every move since then has been trying to recover from that trade.

He made moves that led to the 2020 title and was said to have actually improved a title team with the moves he made after that season. Problem was...injuries hit.

Vando being out with injuries and Beasley being damn near unplayable, aren't on Pelinka.

I get it but loyalty generally just doesn’t work either direction in sports.

There are certain players that a franchise makes the decision that they need to retire having only played for that franchise. I have no issue with that.

Ya gotta accept the reality if your team is not a contender like I have with the Warriors

Difference is, the Lakers are 1, maybe 2 solid trades from at least having a decent shot. They have Lebron managing to play at an all-star level at 40 and AD playing at close to MVP level...so they kind of have to try to make those moves.

Saw an article that suggested sending Gabe Vincent, Max Christie, Jalen Hood-Schifino and their 2031 1st round pick to the Jazz for Sexton and Kessler. Vincent has restored some of his trade value, Max Christie is developing into a solid player with some athleticism...my guess is though, the Jazz would probably want to replace JHS with Reaves.

It does in some cases, like Curry, and Kobe, and Dirk, etc.

Sure and fans like that too, and financially it makes sense. Keeping Kobe around (or Curry) might delay you winning your next title but at least the arena is full and the merchandise and ratings stay solid.

Nothing wrong with a fan thinking they are a move or two away from contending. There are Warriors fans here calling into the radio shows saying that. But it's definitely not true for the Ws and I really don't see Sexton and Kessler getting you guys past OKC or Houston or (healthy) Dallas or even Denver in a 7 game series.

Not to say it's not worth a shot I just don't see the Lakers having enough. I really feel the transition to a new generation is happening. I would be shocked if any of the old guard (Curry, KD, LeBron, Dame, PG, etc) win any more titles. It's now OKC and Cleveland and Houston and even Orlando and the Knicks and Dallas (I guess Kyrie could be the old guy who gets another then LOL)

Even if they make the trade, I agree that they still won't have enough. But they would at least have a punchers chance...especially if Lebron has one more high-level playoff run in him.

I think it's enough to get them past Dallas and Denver...OKC and Houston would be tough though...they'd have to hope that those 2 need a little more playoff "seasoning".

OKC doesn't need anything to be honest. Feels like the first 'young' team to win a title since...honestly can't recall a team this young.

Yeah they might falter just don't see how. Celtics felt like the title team last year to me, and they were. This year I got OKC.
