Memphis has jumped up in the betting odds as a team for Jimmy Butler. Vegas knows something

Honestly, Memphis makes a ton of sense as team for Butler. Personality wise, its a great fit. But as a team looking to contend that doesn't really have much experience, a player like Butler can really help get them over the hump of 2nd round team to Finals contender. And with the West looking like its just the Thunder (especially with Dallas losing both Kyrie and Luka for some time), now is the time.

Contract wise for the trade rules, Smart/Clarke/Kennard gets it done. No way Memphis would give up Desmond Bane, but those 3 players is a decent return with some picks involved (Memphis has plenty they can move, 1st and 2nd rounders). I'd ask for GG Jackson too if I'm Miami

Saw that about odds of Memphis landing him.

But, Miami has Rozier, they don't need Smart. Smart, Clarke, Kennard won't get it done anyway.....it has to be dollar for dollar I believe and that's about 7 mill short. Butler makes like 48 mill.

It works in the trade machines. Plus, it doesn't matter that they have Rozier. Miami has reached a point now where they can't (shouldn't, Riley is stubborn) be overly picky about what the return trade package looks like. You're not going to find one that has a nice young players on good contracts and picks. The time for that was last summer. The longer you wait, the worse your return is going to be and if you wait to try to do a sign and trade, that's making things overly complicated given the CBA guidelines on S&Ts. If they get contracts that expire this year or next year and/or some picks, take the deal. Kennard and Smart come off the books this year, Clarke in 3 years. If they could get GG, that's a nice young player to continue to develop as well. Plus Smart is a good enough piece to where they can turn right around and flip him somewhere else.

Memphis is the only trade I saw that I like so far unless Fox pushes to get out of Sacramento but with their little winning streak that seems unlikely

That's fucking bullshit. No one wants to watch Jalen brunson bullshit basketball. And he makes all kids that watch him worse at the game. And makes them huge whiners like him.

The sad thing about no Jimmy is I have to watch Terry Rozier start games and be completely useless.
