I usually avoid spring training, but I’ll probably be able to watch the game on Thursday night. It’s the rare spring training night game and it’s on tv. kinda looking forward to it.

I checked in on Englert and he has had a total of 3.1 scoreless innings over his last two appearances. His spring ERA is an even 3.00 through 9 innings.

Sborz is straight up trash. He’ll have like one good outing where he somehow manages to resemble a major league pitcher, and then for whatever reason, that’s enough to convince the team to overlook his next 10 awful outings. I can even understand holding on to Spencer Howard more than I can Sborz. Howard was a former top prospect and they don’t want to admit yet they made a massive mistake accepting him as a return for a good deadline rental. They should go ahead and cut him too, but I can at least sort of, kind of, see why they haven’t. But Sborz offers nothing.

Concerning, if you ask me. It’s still Spring, so he has time to iron out the kinks. And he was facing an All-Star lineup, so there’s that as well.

But that wasn’t a typical Spring game, where pitchers focus more on the process and less on the results. He was trying to get outs, and he got absolutely battered. I hope that was just a one-off.
