He's been in the league long enough now to know what his team needs....even if he doesn't want that role.
It can be done quietly and on the court during games....but his voice in the locker room would also play a role and go a long way as far as leadership goes.

I dont think the suns need leadership. I think they need to stay healthy. I don’t watch their games and think they’re losing due to lack of leadership. Hard to be consistently good when 1 of your top 3 is consistently out. SAS is just bored and target certain players when he is bored. I don’t think anyone wants to see the suns if Beal, Booker, & Durant are healthy

Let me clarify. He’s not winning the award nor should he. However, there’s no question that he’s the most valuable player in the league. All you need to do is look at:
1. Sixers offense without him.
2. Maxey without him.
3. And this is the big one…Sixers defense without him.

Dude was having an exceptional season, doing historical shit. He epitomized the concept of “unguardable”. Teams played him with all sorts of junk defenses and it just didn’t matter. He was taking what the defense presented and he as defeating.

The MVP this year comes with a great big one of these. The “winner” will have only won because Embiid got hurt and was ineligible.

I don’t see them as contenders even full strength. The Thunder ran circles around KD and Beal all night long. KD looking a lot slower and he telegraphed passes multiple times. They might win 2 games in a 7 game series, no more.

What I will say is there is no reason to give Jokic the MVP over SGA

Denver doing what people expected them to do while SGA got his team playing out of their mind. Everyone expected a jump from OKC but not top 4 seed type of jump (possibly top seed out west)

A lot of voters need to lose their vote if they give the MVP to Jokic again

I have it SGA.

SGA wins the battle in points.
