It's funny how everyone in the local media is on board with Josh Smith in the OF now that the Rangers have decided to do so. Back when we first signed Seager, I immediately started asking guys like Newberg, Lucas, Grant and Halicke if they thought the Rangers would try Smith in the OF. I don't think I heard back from any of them.

There is one thing that will come out of Howard being given a starting job. When someone in the media says in the future that this prospect or that prospect will not be given a spot without earning it in ST, they will have to answer why that prospect is any different than Spencer Howard. Lol

They aren't providing information that's crucial to following the Rangers. Just because they don't respond to random fan questions doesn't mean they disagree, it just means they had other things to do.

I'm not sure what they were supposed to say back then. It was a pretty likely scenario, but still a hypothetical one at that point. I don't get the vendetta against the local media, personally. They aren't providing information that's crucial to following the Rangers. I do think it's funny that certain ideas they latch onto and certain ones they don't. The "why" and "why nots" are interesting.

As far as them having other things to do, they do spend their time, at times, answering some pretty off the wall questions in their question and answer forums.

I think each of those guys have an important role in assisting us in following the team. I like the job they do most of the time, you might even say the vast majority of the time. Jeff Wilson is probably my personal favorite.

This isn’t anything new. The front office does what it wants even if it doesn’t make any sense. They stubbornly played odor despite the fact that so many fans wanted to see him benched when he had numbers that looked like a AA ball player.

He an Gallo are the worse case scenerio I can remember. We all wanted both of them at the time but neither pan'd out and should have been gone long before they were.

so do I but they are still holding on to 1 or 2 players that we should have moved on from before now
