Tigers take two straight from the Broncos on the weekend to advance to the next round of the WHL playoffs where they will next face Kootenay who dispatched the Calgary Hitmen to the golf course.

Congrats dash. With 2 upsets in the East, Medicine Hat gets home ice again this round. Should be a very entertaining series.

It's going to be a tough one, Kootenay is rolling again (I remember a couple of years ago when they were the hottest team in the league down the stretch and they continued it all the way through the WHL playoffs). Langhamer will have to continue his stellar play between the pipes for the Tigers to have any chance.

Here are the next playoff round series matchups:

Edmonton vs Brandon
Medicine Hat vs Kootenay

Kelowna vs Seattle
Portland vs Victoria

dash's predictions: Edmonton over Brandon in six, Kootenay over the Tigers in 6, Kelowna over Seattle in 5, and Victoria over Portland in 7 (upset special)

I really dont know what to make of this Dane Fox kid :noidea: is it just because he's an over-ager? or did teams just miss on him and the canucks got horseshoes-lucky

I say 6 in Victoria vs Portland. Polika is sizzling hot now and When vollirath has played the Cheaterhawks. He has owned them.

As coach Lowry says: Believe in the Process

Tigers drop the opener to Kootenay 4-2 last night. Kept Reinhart and Descheneau off the score sheet and still the Ice were victorious doesn't bode well. Game two of the series tonight, must win for the Hat tonight.

Playing with elite linemates on a stacked team is part of it too. But he's probably worth taking a shot on.

D Fox: 16 points in 7 games
B Gaunce: 11 points in 7 games
C Cassels: 10 points in 5 games
B Horvat: 9 points in 5 games

re: Fox - I wonder how we can get Connor McJesus on the Nucks to keep that magic going
nice crop coming up that the same time though (add Shinkaruk to the pile). Can't remember the last time we've had more than one or two prospects worth keeping track of.

Tigers even up their series with Kootenay 1-1 tonight with a 5-2 win. It's the only second round series that is at 1-1 (all others are at 2-0).

Edmonton is up 3-0 on Brandon. Word is when it's over Pulock will join Bridgeport on an ATO. The Isles are already talking about pairing Griffen Reinhart & Ryan Pulock. They could be a lot of fun to watch in the near future.

Victoria had a 3-2 lead in the 3rd period last night, but the Winterhawks stormed back and took the game 4-3 and have a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.

Might as well post the final Central Scouting rankings in this thread as well:

2014 NHL CS Final Rankings - NA Skaters

My draft board would start:

1. Ekblad - NHL-calibre size and skating at age 18. He's going to be a prototypical two-way defenseman.

2. Bennett - Doug Gilmour type, but tailored to the modern game.

3. Reinhart - Creative player. Should be a scorer down the road.

4. Dal Colle - Massive upside.

5. Draisaitl - Does everything well.
