Tigers lead 2-1 after 40 minutes (thanks mostly to Marek Langhamer, stellar netminding).

What is that? Dutch?

Nice to see Lazar keep rolling. Excited to see this kid in a Sens uni down the road. Complete player.

Well after dropping the first 2 games home to the Val D'Or Forreurs (Miners?), the Memorial Cup Champion Halifax Mooseheads trail Game 3 5-1 halfway through the game. :D

Anthony Mantha has a hat trick. It never ceases to amaze me that Zach Fucale is somehow considered an elite goalie. :L

Looks like a Quebec team will win the Q title for the 1st time in 5 years, and only the 3rd time in the last 9 seasons.

God I know, I have been saying the same thing for two years! I still wonder if NHL scouts/GMs have any idea how to actually evaluate/isolate individual goalie play in major junior

Edmonton wins 4-1 tonight and takes a 3-1 lead in the series. I don't want to be 'that guy' and blame the officiating, but my word, it was not very good tonight. Bad calls, missed calls, but make no mistake, Edmonton played a good game tonight.

I don't know if you saw it, but apparently there's an article in an Edmonton paper saying the Oilers should give up the 3rd pick for Reinhart. In the comments section some Oilers fans feel they can get him for YAKUCRAP.

I guess the author of the article doesn't realize the Islanders need a Shut Down Defenseman as bad as the Oilers do.

The irony is if Edmonton loses their last game, they finish 29th (i.e. in Florida's spot) and would have won the lottery and Ekblad would have been theirs. To answer the question, I wouldn't trade pick #3 for Griffin Reinhart as there will still be a quality player available and you can still find some good defenseman via the trade or free agency route.

Besides the Oilers would probably trade the 3rd pick for someone else, knowing them

I wouldn't trade Reinhart for the 3rd pick in the draft. He's been developing for 2 years in Edmonton. The Islanders need somebody ready to step in on defense with MacDonald gone & the possibility that Visnovsky might not be healthy enough to play next season. Reinhart is a virtual lock to be that player.

I actually like where the Isles sit at 5. I view it like this: If Ekblad goes in the top 4 the Isles are going to get either a potential big time goal scoring Winger in Dal Colle or one of the 3 possible Franchise Centers. If by some chance Ekblad falls to 5 the Isles could have the best defense corps in the entire NHL in 2 years.

Portland takes out Kelowna 7-3 tonight to win the West and awaits the winner between Edmonton and Medicine Hat out of the East (likely Edmonton).

Well, it's Edmonton - Portland for the 3rd straight year after a 4-3 Oil Kings win tonight. A very good and unexpected season ends for the Tigers tonight. Well done boys.

Great run from the Tigers this year dash! I wish the Chiefs would have put up a quarter of the fight they did.

Well, it's Edmonton - Portland for the 3rd straight year

After 2 Game 7s tonight, the Q finals are set and now I can finally officially say the Q champion will be a team from Quebec for the 1st time in 5 years. :)

The Val D'Or Foreurs (Miners? Labourers?) won the first 2 games of the series and the last 2 with Halifax winning 3 in between. They will face the #1 seed Baie Comeau Drakkar (Viking Ship?). I don't care who wins. I'm just glad Halifax didn't repeat! :D

Baie Comeau? Wasn't that where Brian Mulroney called home (or at least his home riding?). I know it's not much of a reason, but it's enough for me to root for Val D'Or.

:)

Edit: Martin Brian Mulroney (born March 20, 1939), PC, CC, GOQ, was the 18th Prime Minister of Canada from September 17, 1984 to June 25, 1993, and was leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada from 1983 to 1993. His tenure as Prime Minister was marked by the introduction of major economic reforms, such as the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and the Goods and Services Tax, and the rejection of constitutional reforms such as the Meech Lake Accord and the Charlottetown Accord. Prior to his political career, he was a prominent lawyer and businessman in Montreal.

Mulroney was born on March 20, 1939, in Baie-Comeau, Quebec, a remote and isolated town in the eastern part of the province. He is the son of Irish Canadian Catholic parents,

Reading some comments from Mooseheads fans. Apparently Fucale had another less than stellar night between the pipes for them. I hope he doesn't make Team Canada again this year but he's probably penciled in already as long as he stays healthy.

Hahaha I have no idea. I don't expect to ever visit either location. Baie Comeau is however the team that drafted Nathan MacKinnon. He refused to play for them and got traded to Halifax. It appears they are now reaping the rewards with their 2nd straight trip to the finals. The only difference is that this time they are the favourites.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I just realized that Halifax outshot Baie Comeau 41-16 but lost 3-2. They scored 3 goals on 16 shots against Fucale. Not exactly clutch goaltending in the biggest game of the season. :L
