A nightcrawler is a worm. literally! I bet he doesn't know it although he acts the part
Blue Jays are a much better team than the Rangers. We had one shot to steal a game from them and we blew it. And now the Cowboys season is done before it ever even started by losing our our best cover guy by far. Terrible day all around for DFW teams.
I am not blaming this loss on Banister as we flat out lost this game but for the life of me I do not know why Napoli did not start and let Fielder sit out another game. I sure hope it happens tonight. And face it, we stink against the Jays no matter who is on their team. That's the real story. Should never have come down the way it did. Damn RISP's

Is allowing at least 1 baserunner in two thirds of your appearances that unusual even for good closers? Right off hand it just doesn't seem that bad to me. In looking at Mariano Rivera's first season as a closer I see he allowed at least one baserunner in 8 of 12 August appearances where he pitched at least 1 inning. In September that year he did so in 6 of 9 appearances of at least 1 inning. The putting (at least) 1 man on before he can close the door, bit Tolleson in the ass last night. Dude SERIOUSLY needs to stop that.
In 8 of his 12 appearances in August, he has allowed at least 1 man to reach base... (either by hit or BB). That's just asking for trouble.
The lower the WHIP the better though...It was very unlike Tolly to walk two guys like that. Also very unlike Beltre to make an error...That they happened on the heels on one another hurt...I don't think the odds are high they happen again going forward. Is allowing at least 1 baserunner in two thirds of your appearances that unusual even for good closers? Went to the game last night and it was a silent ride home. That one hurt a little.
I never understood the baseball fan that puts the next two to be played already in the loss column. I'm happy I don't watch baseball games with them.
Go Rangers!

Oh, I agree completely. I just don't think it is unusual to give up 1 baserunner in two thirds of your outings. The key is to not give up more than the one I think. It also helps to get an out or two first before giving up the baserunner. The lower the WHIP the better though...It was very unlike Tolly to walk two guys like that. Bennie, Tolley is no Mariano Rjvera. Is allowing at least 1 baserunner in two thirds of your appearances that unusual even for good closers? Right off hand it just doesn't seem that bad to me. I never said he was DT. My point is if Rivera can allow baserunners that often why would we expect Tolley to be better. Even very good closers allow baserunners that often.Bennie, Tolley is no Mariano Rjvera.
Can't. That's why I said he is no Rivera. In no way should these two men be compared with one another. Wish they could be.I never said he was DT. My point is if Rivera can allow baserunners that often why would we expect Tolley to be better.
