Just finished the game. That was brutal. I had a bad feeling after we left the bases loaded. Dyson and Kela were awesome. Tolleson just buckled under the pressure. Unfortunately that was our best shot at winning one in this series.

Fielder missed so many mistakes in that final AB. :L

Side note: I saw "The Perfect Shot" at the AAC. It's the Dirk documentary. It was pretty damn cool.

Blue Jays are a much better team than the Rangers. We had one shot to steal a game from them and we blew it. And now the Cowboys season is done before it ever even started by losing our our best cover guy by far. Terrible day all around for DFW teams.

You left out your Longhorns season. It's over before it starts too. Gig em.

That's the real story. Should never have come down the way it did. Damn RISP's
I am not blaming this loss on Banister as we flat out lost this game but for the life of me I do not know why Napoli did not start and let Fielder sit out another game. I sure hope it happens tonight. And face it, we stink against the Jays no matter who is on their team.

Rougned Odor left Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays after being hit on the right hand by a grounder.
The tip of Odor's right middle finger was noticeably bloody as he was lifted from the contest. He's being sent for an X-ray, although the Rangers are saying it's just precautionary.

X-rays on Rougned Odor's right middle finger came back negative.
Odor's fingers got bloodied up when it was hit by a grounder Tuesday, but it appears he just has a laceration. Consider him day-to-day.

Need Roogie out there in the batters box, Hanser just doesnt have the bat Roog provides out there. Offense struggles enough without missing one of the guys that has been producing

For all the good I have seen from Jeff he leaves me scratching my head at times too. May need some of CJ's head and shoulders?

The putting (at least) 1 man on before he can close the door, bit Tolleson in the ass last night. Dude SERIOUSLY needs to stop that.

In 8 of his 12 appearances in August, he has allowed at least 1 man to reach base... (either by hit or BB). That's just asking for trouble.

Not going to say it should've been Fielder as he had already sat a game, but one of Fielder or Moreland should've sat for sure

Is allowing at least 1 baserunner in two thirds of your appearances that unusual even for good closers? Right off hand it just doesn't seem that bad to me. In looking at Mariano Rivera's first season as a closer I see he allowed at least one baserunner in 8 of 12 August appearances where he pitched at least 1 inning. In September that year he did so in 6 of 9 appearances of at least 1 inning.

Went to the game last night and it was a silent ride home. That one hurt a little.

I never understood the baseball fan that puts the next two to be played already in the loss column. I'm happy I don't watch baseball games with them.

Go Rangers!

The lower the WHIP the better though...It was very unlike Tolly to walk two guys like that. Also very unlike Beltre to make an error...That they happened on the heels on one another hurt...I don't think the odds are high they happen again going forward.

Sorry......I hesitate to even say this, but I swear, when we didn't score in the 8th, I said to myself, "We're going to lose this F-ing game." And I turned it off. Honestly HATE being that right.

I can only imagine what a lousy ride home that was for ya.

But I'm with ya for tonight......GO RANGERS

Perfect storm, that loss is mostly on Tolley for the walks and Beltre for the error, it would've gone into the bottom of the 9th tied if not for the error

Oh, I agree completely. I just don't think it is unusual to give up 1 baserunner in two thirds of your outings. The key is to not give up more than the one I think. It also helps to get an out or two first before giving up the baserunner.

Bennie, Tolley is no Mariano Rjvera.

I never said he was DT. My point is if Rivera can allow baserunners that often why would we expect Tolley to be better. Even very good closers allow baserunners that often.

Can't. That's why I said he is no Rivera. In no way should these two men be compared with one another. Wish they could be.
