From DT......Sports has a degree of danger involved for everyone. As for myself I don't want the nets. For those who want them, don't sit there. Individuals should be responsible for themselves in this case.

Maybe this is just a couple of old farts spouting off. But I agree 100%.

I'd like to see some FACTS on per 1,000/1,000,000 spectators seated in sections XX where this sort of situation occurs most often, how many injures are reported? How many of those are serious?

I would do it to move DDJ to LF and get Straus back to RR, that way you add another semi-productive bat to the lineup. Josh cant be counted on to be back for more than 3 games per week, if that, in the future. If all it costs is cash I'm down, not my money. Ill spend it frivolously at this point in the season. HAHA!

I'd be interested to hear someone's/anyone's take on their feelings about putting up netting behind the dugouts.
Nice topic. I can't believe it hasn't happened already. The few times I was fortunate to sit behind home plate, it was like sitting in good seats at college or even HS games or a Little League game... You didn't notice the net the moment you started following the game.

You read my mind when I saw the rumor. Strausborger is a spare at this point, and probably always will be. Send him back to AAA where he belongs.

We signed a spare pitcher off of waivers from San Diego named Chris Rearick.

Do we know anything about him?
He is 27 years old and still pitching in the minors. He has a 5.23 ERA and a WHIP of 1.78 this year pitching mostly at AAA. He has pitched a total of 3 innings for the big league club this year and he allowed 8 baserunners and 4 runs. He has been a relief pitcher throughout his career and he is a lefty.

I agree as my oldest son and I were down behind home plate this year and the net that was in front of us was not a problem. Hey, lets have glass boards like in hockey. Just kidding.

Sounds like a spare if there ever was one. Actually he may not be. When he was with the Rays, he was the minor league reliever of the year in 2011 and this is his first really bad season. So maybe he could that mojo back.
