Stubbs is 2-3, and Rua homered tonight. I don't care which, but bring one of them up for Strausborger. I never understood why he was the one we brought up anyways.

Our pitching strategy for the Jays this series was way off. Too many walks and they still hit a ton of home runs. We would have been better off just attacking their hitters and been aggressive instead of trying to get them to swing at crap.

What exactly was the strategy? :L

Ariel Jurado improves his record to 12-0 tonight and lowers his ERA to 2.34 for Hickory. He is 19. His WHIP is now 1.01.

I missed the game tonight and now that I see the score no point in watching now. But 11 walks is just ridiculous. I am disappointed in Patton and he needs to be sent down. And Freeman is always a walk waiting to happen but was pitching better but I am not sure when the last time was he pitched before tonight.

Scheppers took over for Faulkner in the 10th. I'm sure it won't take long for him to leave his mark on it.

Played CF and was a RHH and we didn't care about overexposing him while we tried to get Rua regular regular ABs in AAA, considering he's hitting .140 in AAA playing regularly, he has no business being back up yet

Stubbs is probably the more sensible option now that he's been acquired, let him platoon with Venable, but maybe they're just waiting until September callups, not sure on the rationale at this point

Guy knows how to pitch, not much fastball (low 90s) but it's got a lot of movement and his changeup is pretty advanced for a young pitcher, has a potentially above average slider in time

Been paying attention to him this year, could advance quickly if he gains better command of his fastball and slider and continues developing his changeup

That is why the callup may happen but we will have to lose someone with the new ExPadre just added.

BTW guys, Stubbs has only a minor league deal. He is not gonna get called up yet but yes Strausborger was a failed act tonight as well as the game as a whole. Looked like a AAA squad against the Jays.

Could not watch after the slam

Probably would be best to just let go of the ex-Padre we just picked up.

I don't see much hope in Stubbs. Might as well keep Straus. Now if they do get Austin Jackson then maybe he is the guy who replaces Straus.

I wonder if he goes directly to Frisco next year to avoid pitching for High Desert?

Rua did better tonight and he has always hit so I expect him to turn it around soon. He has hit well at AAA before.

Bet the ExPadre is run through waivers again. Someone will replace Straus IMO. He looked lost at the plate tonight. I am thinking during callups a speed guy who is great CF defense. I agree re Faulkner. I think they find room for him in September

Very impressive. Hope it translates into positive MLB numbers. We have had plenty of guys called up that did great at AAA and fell flat on their faces once called up.
