Well, here we are. The best way to approach this last week is to see it as a win-win for the Rangers.

Option 1: They get hot, win 6 of 7, and go into the WC as a hot streaky team and maybe do some damage.

Option 2: They continue their September meltdown, miss the playoffs, and at the very least we get a roster overhaul in the offseason and very possibly a new manager. Few managers have ever survived 2 straight September collapses. The national media is taking notice now of the Rangers' struggles.

Either way bodes well for 2014. This isn't our year. That is pretty obvious. I expect the same buffoonery on the basepaths and the same impatient at bats this last week so we are almost certainly looking at option 2. But we probably get a new manager out of it. And that would be more than worth it to me.
