He does have some pop. His average leaves a little to be desired though. But did you realize this guy was rookie of the year with the Cubs in 2008? Made the AS team too! What happened to his swing?

I think regular playing time would boost his average a bit, his biggest problem is the strikeouts

Average is .220 but his OBP (.314) is actually higher than AJP's (.303) who's hitting .277

Perez seems to be gaining more and more confidence with each start. He's absolutely dealing right now. He's transitioning from promising young back-end starter to legitimate top-3 guy right before our eyes. If he keeps this up, he's going to make a strong case to be the #4 starter for the playoffs.
