No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
Line drive single in Langford's first at bat.
Maybe that will help his trade value a tad.Leody homers again. They say he has a different approach
It looks like he is trying a Joey Gallo approach. LolLeody homers again. They say he has a different approach
I think that is a good idea. From Jeff Wilson:
Rangers might slot Jacob deGrom fourth in their rotation, which would give him the finale of the season-opening home series vs. Red Sox and keep him from pitching on a potentially chilly day March 31 at Cincinnati.
Wa thinking this all along. Let Rangers make the money off the selloutFrom Jeff Wilson:

Why would we want to get rid of Gray and/or Mahle?with Cole and Gil looking at long times out for the Yankees i wonder if the Yankees might be interested in Gray and/or Mahle.
also Boston is looking for a RH power bat maybe we can interest them in Adolis
because Rocker and Leiter are ready or close to it and by the trade deadline Rocker, Leiter, Teodo, etc will definitely be ready to move into the rotation. why not move Gray or Mahle and go with the kids? Why would we want to get rid of Gray and/or Mahle?
So you are wanting to wait until the trade deadline. If that's the case I may be good with that as it gives us time to see how all those mentioned are working out.because Rocker and Leiter are ready or close to it and by the trade deadline Rocker, Leiter, Teodo, etc will definitely be ready to move into the rotation. why not move Gray or Mahle and go with the kids?
Do you think they will want one long man or two? If they want two there will be a decision yo be made on who the second guy will be. I imagine 6 of the guys will be:So very interested in who starts out the year in the pen
I do not like 2 long men. And I agree that it is an and day to baby DeGrom.Do you think they will want one long man or two? If they want two there will be a decision yo be made on who the second guy will be. I imagine 6 of the guys will be:
Jackson
Martin
Garcia
Webb
Milner
Armstrong
That leaves either a second long man or Marc Church for the last spot, I would think. Now, if they decide to trade Leody, they may have enough money to sign Robertson. He seems to be waiting on some team to make a spot for him.
Patrick Murphy has been impressive this spring. Houser had been impressive, as well, until yesterday.
no i just alluded to the fact that we will have to move them now or wait until the deadline but either way they will have to goSo you are wanting to wait until the trade deadline. If that's the case I may be good with that as it gives us time to see how all those mentioned are working out.
Bochy mentioned the long man part of the pen today. He indicated that it might not be a bad idea to go with 2 long men to begin the season. Of course, if both of those guys were good pitchers, they could handle a short assignment as well.I do not like 2 long men. And I agree that it is an and day to baby DeGrom.
Pitchers should be expected to go 5 innings at a bare minimum or you burn a pen
I like Church as he has velo compared to others
I really am not good assessing guys just by stats. I like to see them and how they handle the variety of hitters out there
I wonder if they would eat one of the bottom 3 contracts bawd upon others performance.
Have to think barring IL rhey might as some of the young guys may force themselves on the 26 man later this season
