I think he does go back to AAA but if he plays well then if García goes down he takes the spot for a bit
I believe it was Sandler who suggested in that scenario that Langford would go to RF and Smith would play LF. I would imagine that just about any injury to an OF, 3B, or MIF means Smith becomes a regular. Even if Burger goes down I think Smith would play a lot at 1B and DH.

Duran's value is that he would make 2 bench players who could backup at 2B or SS. He is a lot more valuable to the team in that resoect than Leody is.

I think once they are convinced that either Pillar or Haggerty can be a bench player, then Leody will be traded. I guess we might need to put Harris in that category along with Pillar and Haggerty.

From Evan Grant:

Bochy also says plan is for DeGrom to pitch "one, maybe two" innings. So, he might go even shorter than a typical first start, but it is part of plan

If they are going to have to baby deGrom from now on, i am not sure we spent wisely on him. His injury was about 22 months ago. He started throwing again about 9 or 10 months ago. Take the bumper guards and the training wheels off and throw them in the trash, already.

Maybe, if you shift somebody over to RF and I don't really think they have that in mind. That's the reason behind the Pillar pickup he can/has played all 3 positions and it was because he killed LHed pitching last year...
That works especially if Leody traded who has had a good spring

still not 1 Texas Rangers game televised just looking at stats doesn't tell me a thing. apparently, we are the only team who hasn't had at least 1 game televised. by this time last year i had seen 2 or 3 and we have 3 or 4 days before we will

Murphy and Houser are getting some serious consideration, it seems.

From Evan Grant:

Kumar Rocker has worked through 2 innings in a camp game, facing hitters like Joc Pederson, Jonah Heim and Ezequiel Duran. The breaking ball still inconsistent, but there have been a few nice ones. Progress

On Rocker, to break this down a little better hopefully: Pretty much everybody was very happy with his hard slider/slurve. Especially Rocker. It was a step forward. The traditional curve is still not quite there. It was a good day.

From Jeff Wilson:

Three scoreless innings for Kumar Rocker. He hit Josh Smith in the foot and walked Jonah Heim, but otherwise was pretty good.

From Shawn McFarland:

Kumar Rocker ends his third scoreless inning with a strikeout of Joc Pederson. He’s yet to allow a hit.

From Jeff Wilson:

Jacob deGrom throws 16 pitches/10 strikes in his first Cactus League inning. He struck out Kyle Isbel and Bobby Witt Jr. before getting Vinnie Pasquantino to pop out.

15 pitches/11 strikes, one strikeout for Jacob deGrom in the second inning. His Cactus League debut was perfect: six up, six down, three strikeouts.
