From Shawn McFarland:

Dustin Harris just clobbered a 97 mph fastball from Brewers prospect Jacob Misiorowski into right field. Wish we had StatCast here because that was a blast.

Bruce Bochy said this morning that Harris put some (good) weight on this winter. That's why.

After what happened after I mentioned Heuer last time. I decided not to say anything about him pitching today. So he goes out and pitches better today than any of the other six pitchers who pitched before him. You're welcome, Codi.
Sandler mentioned Codi Heuer after the game as someone who he thinks will impact our bullpen at some point this season.

The strong winds didn’t help; the home run that Brice Turang hit off of Rocker in the first inning initially looked like a routine fly ball before it continued to carry and forced center fielder Evan Carter to backpedal to the wall and jump.

“That’s some tough luck,” Bochy said.

From Shawn McFarland:

Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott replaced Seager at shortstop midway through Sunday’s game and proceeded to hit a ball harder than nearly any Texas batter did last season.

Walcott hit a groundball to shortstop in the bottom of the seventh inning that carried an exit velocity of 115.1 mph. For reference, the Rangers had just one batted ball hit harder all season; Adolis García hit a 116.1 mph double in May against the Athletics. Walcott reached on an error when shortstop Conner Kaiser’s throw to first base was short. Walcott also made two errors in the field. Such is life for an 18-year-old.

The last two batters Teodo faced today saw 5 pitches combined from Teodo that topped 100 MPH.

The ball seams have nothing to grip in thin air, I found that out the first time we played in Colorado Springs...
I know Gray mentioned it playing up there
You played up three? Ball player as an adult?

Back in the 90s when I was still in the military we would go to Colorado Springs in the fall for a tournament. Needless to say it was a hitters tournament because of the altitude which is almost 1000 feet higher than Denver where the Rockies play...

I think he has a shot to close or at least figure in the late innings when the Rangers are up in a close game.
It seemed to come together for him last year at AA posting that 1.98 era.
I want some really good young arms in the bullpen who can contribute.

It seems Houser is getting a good look in hopes he can be a long man out of the pen.

I have a feeling we are going to go into the next offseason with the idea that the team has to find a place for Sebastian Walcott to play for the Rangers in 2026. I guess this season will determine which direction they will go in to find a place for him. I wonder if he will get any reps in the OF in the last couple of months of this season.

There were some guys who had down years last year. If one or more of them have another down year this season, Walcott could be considered to replace them.

Then there is Alejandro Osuna.

From Evan Grant:

On Monday, AppleTV+ selected a trio of early-season Rangers games for its Friday Night night exclusive broadcast window. It brings to total the number of nationally televised games to 11 for the season.

The three games selected for AppleTV+ are: April 4 vs. Tampa Bay (7:05 pm CT), April 25 at San Francisco (9:15 pm CT) and May 16 vs. Houston (7:05 pm CT).

The other 151 broadcasts will be available via the Rangers Sports Network partners. All 151 remaining games will be available on the Victory+ app for a $100 subscription fee, making the per game cost about 66 cents.

For those who choose to go with cable/satellite TV, 136 will be available through Rangers Sports Network (RSN) with another 15 available over-the-air on CW 33 in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. The Rangers have a 26-station network throughout their five-state broadcast territory.

The Rangers have cable/satellite carriage deals with DIRECTV satellite, its satellite-free streaming service, U-verse and Spectrum. The club is still negotiating with other potential providers to further enlarge the team’s reach.

For reference, it is expected that customers who had Bally Sports Southwest last year as part of their bundle will most likely have RSN access at no additional cost. RSN will air on DIRECTV at Channel 677, on U-verse at 1752 and on Spectrum on 448 in Dallas-Fort Worth. For other locations, the full list (along with over-the-air broadcast stations) can be found on Rangers.com/tunein.

In addition to the AppleTV+ games, here is the full list of national exclusives:

ESPN: July 6 at San Diego (8:10 pm CT).

FOX: April 19 vs. Los Angels Dodgers (3:05 pm CT); April 26 at San Francisco (3:05 pm CT); July 12 vs. Houston (3:05 pm CT); Aug. 9 vs. Philadelphia (6:05 pm CT); Sept. 6 vs. Houston (6:05 pm CT).

Roku: May 18 vs. Houston (12:05 pm); June 1 vs. St. Louis (12:05 pm).

In addition, RSN will broadcast eight spring training games through either RSN or CW 33 (in Dallas-Fort Worth) starting with a March 12 game against Cincinnati at 3:05 pm CT on CW 33. All of the spring broadcasts will also be available through Victory+.

The remainder of the spring schedule

CW33: March 14 vs. Colorado (8:05 pm CT), March 16 vs. Chicago White Sox (3:05 pm CT), March 25 vs. Kansas City (1:35 pm CT).

RSN: March 18 vs. Cleveland (8:05 pm CT), March 20 vs. Colorado (8:05 pm CT), March 22 vs. Kansas City (2:05 pm CT), March 24 vs. Kansas City (7:05 pm CT).
