Leiter gave up 2 in the first after Jankowski kept the inning alive by appealing the called strike three which would have ended the inning. Jankowski then singled. The next batter hit a 2 run HR. Then Leiter finished his outing retiring the next 7 in a row. Four strikeouts today for Leiter. Really good outing for Leiter, overall.

I think at this point, it would take more than one injury to an outfielder to cause them not to trade him. And those injuries would have to last into the season. I believe what they are waiting on now is in case additional teams need a CF to create a better market, but i do think he gets traded even if the market doesn't improve. If I had to guess, I would say he is traded by March 21.

Yeah, I thought they were adequate backup even before we signed Pillar. Leody just isn't needed here any longer.

Pillar is an ideal 4th Of and yuu would think that signing was the nail in the coffin but if Wyatt or Even were injured I think they would prefer to start Leody

I respect your opinion and it will probably happen. Just don’t think it will if they break camp and one of our OFs are injured

I think Smith would be in CF if both Wyatt and Carter were hurt at the same time, except for when he was needed elsewhere. If they had that many injuries, all of this might not matter much though. Lol

If Leody was making close to the minimum salary he might be safer, but they are up against it budget-wise, and that makes Leody cost much more than a 5th OF is allowed to cost with our bidget constraints..
