Bennie. Saw EG gave his HOF ballot. I do t make the Andy P vote and think Schilling was better. Also was kind of thinking voting for Beltrán was a double standard
I just do the Athletic not DMN

Appreciate any light you might shed. Thanks
I had to go and read his article because I usually avoid the plethora of articles that the writers roll out at this time of year about the HOF. The HOF has become first and foremost a source for easy content in an industry driven by the need for more and more content. Secondarily,, it is another excuse for the media to make political statements every chance they get. That is why Schilling is not in the HOF.

Here is Evan's basic requirements for pitchers..(Note that Schilling checks every one of Evan's boxes) :

"It’s harder and harder to properly evaluate starting pitching: The three starters that got my votes – Buerhle, C.C. Sabathia and Andy Pettitte – all had over 3,000 career innings and 200 wins and at least five seasons each with 15 wins. According to Baseball Reference, their career WARs ranged from 59-62, essentially identical. Félix Hernandez, who would have been 11th on my 10-man ballot, fell short in each of those categories. There was a 10-win difference in Buerhle’s 59 WAR and Hernandez’s 49. Do I feel absolute about this? No."

What Felix brought to the franchise was huge
What Schilling did in the field should not be excluded
