I’m ok with starting Thompson in LF. He’s a great athlete. We don’t know where the team will be at in July. A trade for an outfielder can be made then if necessary. Remember what the Braves did with their ‘July Outfield’. Reynolds isn’t going to make the difference whether this team makes the playoffs or not and trading away top pitching prospects for him cannot be justified.

Thompson could be very valuable with his speed and the new rules going in..
He can turn half of his singles/walks into doubles.
So while his slugging might not be high.. he will be creating runs still..
I think his power will show up more too

Lol. No, my complaints occurred when we traded him.

I couldn't believe that guy. Burroughs had just won the MVP the year before.

I was more like the kid with the foldaway binoculars. I used to bring some just like those.

Thank you…yeah things are have been well…I have continued to stop by and read as y’all tend to have great baseball conversation better than any talk radio show in my opinion. Glad to be back and excited about the direction the team is taking.

The enthusiasm for Cutch going back to Bucs shows how fans really don’t like free agency so much.
They want their stars to remain with the club
Wish there was a way to remedy this without it all going the owners way

And btw prices go up for the consumer a direct consequence of free agency. Not the only factor but….

McCutchen has only started 12 games in CF over the last 5 seasons. That doesn't seem like the ideal candidate to replace Reynolds as the starting CF.

Now, if they trade Reynolds for White, Leiter, Carter and Bubba, then they would have a replacement CF. They would have one for this coming year and another one for 5 more years, until they trade him back to us. Lol. That is, if they are not convicted of Grand Larceny after the first trade.

Yeah Cutch is a DH or part time OF. Absolutely not a FT CF. If we are their trade partner i bet another CF to plug in would be attractive

We need pop offensively out of LF to make noise. Sure don’t want to give up the farm for BReynolds so am willling to wait and have the 2 IMO man the OF temporarily

If either player can get on base at an above average clip, yes let one lead off- otherwise they bat 8 and 9. You have to be on base to score runs. But yeah obviously hopeful they improve there but nothing has been earned

Leody has had the opportunity but Bubba has not. I believe Bubba will find a place on this team. Leody not so much.

Bubba is definitely the best one on the bases even with his couple of over slides
