They’re going to triple their initial investment.

I Hope they don’t make bonehead moves for a quick, competitive on field product that’s detrimental to the organization in the long run.

Who would be some people interested in buying the Rangers?
Mark Cuban?
I certainly hope it isn't Cuban.

I would hope it would be someone who would allow Chuck Greenberg to be a part again.

From today's Baseball America's Prospect Report.

Owen White, RHP, Rangers — White threw just 35.1 innings in the regular season, which stood as the only official professional action he'd seen since being drafted in 2018. Tommy John surgery and the pandemic wiped out his 2019 and 2020 seasons, and a broken hand in his first start this season kept him out until August. Even so, in that short time he's proven himself to be one of the most intriguing pitchers in Texas' system. He's also done a fantastic job navigating the highly hitter-heavy atmosphere in this year's Arizona Fall League. In four starts, righthander has allowed 10 hits while walking nine and whiffing 19. Notably, he'd walked five in 15 previous innings before Wednesday's outing—which was played at Salt River Fields where the automatic ball-strike system is in use—when he walked four hitters in 4.1 innings. His first four frames were excellent before he ran out of steam in the fifth and handed a bases-loaded situation to the bullpen. He now leads the league in ERA, wins, average against, WHIP and innings pitched.

It could also be that Evan is as wrong as he can be and these guys are planning on sticking around for a long time.

I would say he starts 2022 in Hickory and gers moved to Frisco within 6 to 8 weeks. If all goes well, he probably starts 2023 in Round Rock. We coukd see him up here by the middle of 2023.

Vanasco, White, Cole Winn, Roby and Leiter could all be in the rotation come mid 2023 right?

I am not sure Roby would be ready that soon. Unfortunately, I don't expect management to leave 5 rotation spots open for the young guys anyway.

Cody Bradford and Zak Kent could easily be ready by then. Then there is always Alexy, Dunning, Otto, and Henriquez.

Roby could very well be ready for Opening Day 2024 and even make an appearance the previous September.

Evan Grant mentioned that it benefits the Rangers (and all teams) to wait until the new CBA is finalized before signing FA's.

Does QO apply here? Thinking not since an opt out.
copied from article: Reds right fielder Nick Castellanos has exercised the opt-out clause in his contract and will reenter the free agent market, reports MLB Network’s Jon Heyman (Twitter link). The Scott Boras client had two years and $34MM remaining on his contract but will seek a lengthier contract (and a heftier annual value) on the open market. The Reds can, and surely will, extend an $18.4MM qualifying offer to Castellanos — which he’s a lock to reject.

don't think we should rush Vanasco, White, Roby or Leiter. 2024 is early enough.

Yeah I don’t want to rush them either if they’re not doing well.
If they’re dominant in A ball then AA this year, then dominant in AA or AAA to start 2023 they’ll be ready for some big league action come mid 2023 I would think.

IMO it seems like elite pitchers can move up quick. They still need probably 2-2.5 seasons in the minors though. Which would be roughly mid 2023 for most of them.
I would imagine Leiter will be 2024, unless he just absolutely makes A ball hitters look silly and moves to AA early in the year and dominates there as well.. at that point I could see him coming up in mid 2023

I don't think the Rangers can afford to wait and have what could be a self-imposed very short time period to sign someone. I think they should go after a SS beginning next week, and then wait to see if the new CBA affords them the luxury of no longer having to give up a draft pick for a second free agent.

I think you will be surprised with how aggressive the Rangers are with those who pitch liike they are capable of. Vanasco and White are pitching against the equivalent of AA this fall. A lot of folks thought when he was drafted, that Leiter would probably need one full year in the minors.
