I am fine with Allard being a placeholder. He can still eat some innings in 2022. In fact, most of those guys I mentioned are placeholders for our best pitching prospects.

our best need time which we can use to see what Hearn, Dunning, Allard, Latz, Alexy, Otto, etc can bring to the team from opening day and what Winn and those we start at AAA may add during the year. personally i can't wait to see Leiter, Vanasco, etc can bring to the team but i think we have time on them

To me, the Rangers have no business signing a starting pitcher to a three year deal. Either sign an ace for a longterm deal at some point or sign a guy to a one year deal.

I would be in favor of not signing any or if they just have to, then sign one guy to a one year deal.

We have multiple young guys to serve as a bridge to guys like Winn, Leiter, Vanasco and White.

one-year deals seem limited to pitchers who at best are #5 or #6 starters on a majority of MLB teams and we have a sufficient number of pitchers to fill those spots with Allard, Latz, Alexy, Otto and several others. so if we're going to go with a SP FA then go for quality not just some lower tier spot filler

Hope he is a great hire. We need help in lowering our RISP avg. I wonder how many times a base hit could have made a difference in won/loss record.

Wonder if Gallo falls in this category or has he found the truth. To me he can still be a work in progress

He seemed to do better while Banny was here, but that could be coincidence. I have gotten the idea in the past that Woodward likes to tinker with some of our hitter's approach a lot. I am not sure how that will mesh with three hitting coaches. Lol

i would rather have someone who if they see a problem try to find a fix or fixes to the problem, Banny seemed to not be that person

Does anyone think we will ever see a team mainly drop the traditional pitching roles and just ask their 12 player pitching staff to pitch an avg of 3 innings every 4th day?
Of course there will be a stud or 2 per team that can go 6-7 innings, and may prefer it and there will be guys that can only pitch 2 innings I’m sure. They could be paired up with each other.

Just curious because it seems just about every SP pitcher does really well the first time through the order and then hitters Avg and Runs starts going up quite a bit the 2nd and 3rd time through.

I think that was what Spencer Howard did this year, with very little success.

To answer your question, no I don't think we will ever see it.

He had an issue with his physical and signed for way less.
Didn’t know if anyone knew what was wrong with him?
