We have quite a bit of fodder to jettison before we have to trade any of them though. I wouldn't mind a couple of the ones you mentioned to be bench players for us in 2023 and beyond.

Duran is on a different level than the rest of them though. He has a chance to be really good.
and he is guaranteed to be added to the 40 this off-season and will probably see some time at MLB in September

There’s only so much room on the 40 man.
He should make it easier to trade guys like IKF, Solak, Yonny, Ibanez or himself
true and we are probably have to leave several players exposed because we are only going to have a limited number of open spots to cover the rule 5 draft prospects we have. the obvious prospects are Jung, Winn, Duran, Vanasco, Latz and 1 of Walker or Thompson. that's 6 and if we're going to sign 2 or 3 FA's. that means we have to DFA or trade 15 from the 40-man roster while still keeping a good team on the field. right now i see Colina & Cotton as obvious early cuts and i can see Pozo, Apostel, Terry, Tejada and probably White being DFA'ed early, that gets us below the mandatory 40-man level but we will still have to clear another 8. we probably will have to pass on Santana, maybe Anderson, Bush, Patton and look to trade IKF, Guzman, Trevino, Calhoun and possibly Palumbo & Burke

Well at least Jung doesn’t have to be added to the 40 man. He will be. Probably once the roster settles in around mid to late February.

I would imagine they will wait to add him just before the season begins.

Man I hate to see him go. I liked the way he pitched. Had a high K rate in AAA but very low in the majors. Short sample size but I bet Drew Anderson does well next year.
We may bring him back still

I had 8 guys ahead of him on my reverse 40 man a few days ago. I imagine almost all of those 8 guys will be jettisoned within a few weeks.

Dansby Swanson and Alex Bergman will always remind me of Wash, Bogar and Dillon Tate. I guess I should include the other SS, Brendan Rogers, in that group as well.

Guess what player has hit the most home runs for the Texas Rangers that we drafted in 2015.

Interesting read
What do y’all think?
It is a good read but like you and I it is opinionated. Some is agreeable and some not. I think hiring Kershaw as a mentor to our young pitchers is a No to me. Money can be better spent on a SS or OF or both.

Yeah that contract for Kershaw seems a little too long and rich for me.

Same and anyone of them would be starting SS here now
