I think he would be better hitting somewhere near the bottom of the order, less pressure and pitchers relaxing a bit thinking the tough stuff is behind them...
True but he is near free agency and we will likely find more value in the guys coming up. He needs to be much better offensively than Solak Ibanez and Willie yet he isn’t. His value is defensively

This tells me they are definitely in the SS market

@Uncle Siggy lol now thinking that other pitchers have been able to relax up and down our lineup. Hopefully that changes soon

Seems like a big leap.
Ha don’t shoot the messenger. Maybe most of his itches are developed and he needs to see better hitters

I think teams trying to lose is bad. Re the A’s trading all pitchers before the season even starts is bad. Season ticket holders want to see a competitive product. We have teams turning a profit due to revenue sharing.
Reminiscing of the old days prior to Free agency where you had a player for their career with the team they started on. It is heading the way of basketball where all the best players head to one team. I don’t like this
Trying to lose is a bad example to our younger generation and not competing unless you have a chance to win is bad too

I don’t mind when out of the race letting your young guys plays but gutting a team before the season starts is not the way baseball was or should be.
How much longer should they have to wait to trade players who are approaching free agency and who are becoming too expensive for their budget due to the arbitration process?

Most everything I have read seems to indicate that he should only have to spend one year in the minors. That is why I would imagine he starts out in AA.

They are also in the 1B market. We can help them with both in IKF and Lowe. That is why I suggested a trade with them a few days ago.

White is pitching this fall like he could easily handle AA, but I expect he will have to start in High A. A very quick promotion wouldn't surprise me though. His competition in Arizona this fall is pretty good.

“We expect the payroll for 2022 will increase to a point where it has been in the past.”

"According to Baseball Prospectus, and the Rangers averaged $143 million in payroll in the five pre-pandemic seasons. According to Forbes, it was closer to $155 million. Let’s meet in the middle and call it $150 million on average. Counting all their future obligations, projected arbitration cases, pre-arbitration players and dead money, the Rangers have about $47 million committed for 2022. Do the math."

"Which brings us to the final question: Exactly how to spend all that cash?"

Bryant, Story, Suzuki and Stroman should come close to that $100 million.

Evan suggests Story, Suzuki, Kershaw and Kikuchi as well as trading for Olson.

Wouldn’t be bad at all.

Story $23, Bryant $26, Suzuki $11, Stroman $21
Add Yan Gomez at C $5 2/$10
Matz at SP $12 3/$36
Then trade Adolis, Leody, and Glen Otto for Bryan Reynolds CF
Then trade IKF($5), Calhoun($2), Trevino, Solak, plus others for whatever we need…preferably mix them up and add a prospect to create 2 different trade packages to acquire a 2B and a DH. Usually easy positions to fill due to the low defense required. This would also help clear 40 man roster room.

C-Gomez/Heim
1B-Lowe
2B-Ibanez or trade acquisition
3B-Jung
SS-Story
LF-Bryant
CF-Reynolds
RF-Suzuki
DH-? Trade

1.Stroman
2.Matz
3.Dunning
4.Hearn
5.Alexy
