IKF is a good ball player. 4.5 bWAR.
He does a lot of things right. I sometimes wonder if it’s worth up grading at SS.
I do prefer a 25-30 HR high OBP guy over a low power low OBP guy.
Looking at WAR can make you wonder sometimes
Sometimes, I wonder about WAR as a stat as well.

If we kept him waiting on prospect and had elite players minus one generally catcher. That could be WS team

I wonder if Palumbo would sign a MILB contract
If he would he would be another of our homegrown innings eaters. They could start him off slow and then start ramping him up in August. He could come up here a few weeks later when we shut another young pitcher down.

This is from Wilson also.

"The days are winding down for the instructional league in Arizona. Play will end here Friday."

"But the Rangers won’t quite be done. They will resume game next week in Texas as minor-leaguers go barnstorming against four well-known college teams."

"First up is a flight to Lubbock ahead of a 3 p.m. game Monday at Texas Tech. The Rangers will board buses after the game and drive to Arlington, get some sleep, and play next Tuesday at Dallas Baptist."

"The Rangers will have a day off Oct. 27 before driving to Waco for a game against Baylor. The four-game tour will end Oct. 29 against TCU at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth."

"Right-handers Ricky Vanasco and TK Roby are expected to pitch against the Horned Frogs."

I might just have to try and attend one of those games in the Metroplex.

Baseball To Host Texas Rangers Instructional Team Oct. 29 - TCU Athletics

DBU & Horner Ballpark Host Rangers Instructional League Team on October 26 - Dallas Baptist University Athletics

Games are free and open to the public. I will definitely be at the Baylor stop. As always, concessions are on @DT LUNA

Listened to the podcast Jeff Wilson is a part of. Sam Huff was a guest. Very articulate guy who studies the game. He wants to catch which is good. I may have to backtrack some of my earlier comments.
He did 5 innings last week with no pain and still was mixing it up last year with pitchers doing the mental side of preparing to catch. Used Choo as a role model, for work ethic

If you had your choice between a .225/25HR/80RBI guy and a .275/10HR/80RBI guy which one would you choose

Depends on OBP and Defense.
I need a little more.
Think I would rather have the .275 hitter tho.
But again.. depends on OBP

He's a decent player, hits a lot of singles. Good defense too. But if you're putting together a team for a deep postseason run, I don't think he's in the starting lineup.
Don't tell that to Billy Hatcher... :D

Just use what I gave you, that's enough to make a decision...

Just assume their other stats are the same...

What are their OPS? It would take more than average and HR totals to make the decision. There are other factors like defense and stolen bases too.

I don't think I would want either one of them though.
