oh he would probably be great until he suffers that inevitable injury and ends up on the IR
Everybody gets injured sooner or later. Once my arm went dead and had to rely on the SS coming out to take my throws, the other was a pulled hamstring that I played through during the playoffs with my "Special painkilling concoction". Which consists of 4 3000 MG amino acids, 4 extra strength Tylenols and a couple of shots of 80+ proof. Hobbled around all day at work and played CF at night... :D

Since it’s the lock out / offseason. I hope people don’t mind if I bring up an old topic.

what did the board think of Banny? I thought he was a meathead who wasn’t a good manager. he seemed to like odor way too much and the “Bautista punch” thing ended up being an embarrassing moment in hindsight that backfired on us in a big way when Toronto got pay back in the playoffs.

Methinks he is concerned with his swing and miss
Nah, strikeouts don't bother me nearly as much as it does some folks. Huff just wasn't good enough at the plate overall last year, at least not good enough to be ranked in our top10 prospects.

In general, he could have been a better mgr yes but that ship has sailed.

I felt like Bogar was the obvious choice after he managed us out of being able to draft Bregman while competing in meaningless games with a horrible roster. I didn’t like how banny came out of nowhere and won JD over. It almost seemed like JD just didn’t want to go with the obvious candidate in Bogar and he had to go all ivy league and over think it.

what I didn’t like about banny was his hiring decisions. Brocail and the hitting coach were both atrocious from what I remember. Banny also sucked ass when it came to managing a bullpen.

here is my favorite Jeff banister moment. The guy is clearly sitting there with egg on his face trying to explain a 3-0 choke job to the jays. I remember at the time saying that we should do whatever we can to avoid the jays in the first round, but Banny wanted them and they let him have it.

I like Woodward and I think ( so far) he’s hired good coaches. I’ll come back and admit if I’m ever wrong, but I just don’t think banny has what it takes to lead a team to the World Series.

PS: one part of the clip above that cracks me up is you could hear the blue jays celebrating in the hallway during the banny interview.

Levi Weaver has a column out today suggesting 10 moves to make the Rangers contenders in 2022.

Free Agents to be signed:

Suzuki
Kershaw
Castellanos
McCutcheon
Lester
Kela
Diekman

Trade for:

Alcantara
Zunino
Olson

He gives up Lowe, Calhoun. Duran, Smith, Acuna, Otto, Kent, Moss, Heim, Solak, Foscie, and either White or Vanasco.

Ridiculous!

then we should be worried about every player on our major league and minor league teams. there is not one player that is a guarantee. just because someone is hitting in Arizona or at A+, AA or AAA is no guarantee that they will do the same at the Major League level

Surely you jest. No way I give up that pitching. And that is clearly over the budget

We want sustainable contention not an all in before Leiter is even rostered

Perhaps just shock value. Also Castellanos is an opt out waiting to happen
