maybe he bleeds Dodger BlueStroman isn't a former Dodger, so I doubt the Rangers have much interest.
Now that a lot of pitchers are off the board I wouldn’t mind trading for Sonny Gray as long as it doesn’t cost too much.
He’s under control for 2 more years and his k/9 has been up the last 3 years. ERA + is good, FIP is good, SIERA is good.
Wouldn’t mind him as a mid rotation guy.
Would still like to get Ray, Stroman, Gausman, Kershaw or Rodon as well.
If all goes well we could always trade one later on.
The way pitching goes though I don’t see that happening.
I don't get the fascination with Sonny Gray.
Me either
I definitely wouldn’t want to trade two controllable valuable bullpen arms and a potential starting SS for a 1 year $10 mil rental that will pitch to a 4.10-4.60 ERA
Can’t we just sign one of those guys if that’s the need we have?
No thanks. Well, unless they just want the two Dodger rejects we just purchased in exchange.“Now that a lot of pitchers are off the board”
“Couldn’t we just sign that type of player?”
Not many options now.. so probably not
“Rental” I was wrong. He has 2 years left. Not 1
Things have changed, a lot of pitchers are off the board now. Less resources to acquire.
Also, I was wrong in thinking he would be a 1 year rental. Apparently he has an option for 2023 so he would be a 2 year guy. Also I didn’t realize his peripherals were as good as they are and the uptick in k/9 until I dug a little deeper.
With the way things have gone over the last week I would in fact be ok with Sonny Gray.

Time flies. Not too long ago he was the Mets young sensation. Probably good contract for these guys
Sounds like when Hamilton took the Angels deal without checking back with JD.
As the world turns

Moral of the story is get the deal finalized. Don't count on them getting back to you to match another deal. Make them an offer they can't refuse if you want them that bad.
