Yes we need to find a way to sign someone who will push start this rebuild. Have to think we currently have a credibility issue.
Also need Jung to do well.
I just don’t think we can snap our fingers and sign any person we want.
CY will have to continue to sell the Rangers

Day 2 of people on the Rangers subreddit saying that the OF spares acquisitions shouldn't bother anyone because it's a boilerplate move that will likely have no impact on the future whatsoever.

It bothers me BECAUSE it's a boilerplate move that will likely have no impact on the future whatsoever.

Rangers have promoted some of their prospects, only with less success
Rosenthal is missing the mark with this statement. They have promoted some second tier pitchers and they stumbled onto Garcia. Their top tier prospects are all still in the minors. That is about to change with Jung, but most likely, him only.

Not our fingers. Snapping open the checkbook works in a lot of cases though.

It bothers me that some people don't get that more than the moves actually do. Lol

They moved up Leody, Apostel and like it or not even Henandez and not going to go into pitching
Think the point is we need vets to supplement a young talented core already in the big leagues. The Jays are great examples of this

So he states the Rangers have not established themselves as a preferred FA landing a spot.
I can’t argue that

There are two extremes of Rangers fandom. One refuses to believe anything will ever change and the Rangers will never spend. The others believe every single move the Rangers make is wise and above scrutiny. I just don't get either extreme.

Rangers management does some great things at times. They also do some head scratcher things at times, even some boneheaded things. Put the tar and feathers away and put the rose colored glasses away. Hope for the best and call it like it is, and yes I know it is actually how we "think" it is. That is just it. Think!

Probably your Spanky impatience. Whether we sign a top tier FA or not. Our young guys pretty much all in the minors will have to produce.

The Angels are filling gaps but out FO ahead stated we need help at almost every position.

Looks like to me we are still waiting on our guys to develop

I will give you Leody, but the rest are second tier guys at best. I guess I forgot Leody, because I have never seen him as top tier.

They have never really been a preferred FA landing spot. Even when we were good that wasn't the case.

We have to have both to get to where we want to go. We just have to get the FA when they are available. If this were a weak FA class I would say wait a year, but that is not the case.

Someone actually used Atlanta's moves at the deadline this past season as an example of how moves like this can work out for a team.

If we did sign Kershaw to a 1/$20
What kind of production would you expect from him?
Will his arm be healthy enough to pitch 25 games?

I am not counting on great health to start out

Thinking he has alot of wear and tear on that arm

Verlander and Syndergaard have set the market already. Kershaw isn't going anywhere for 1/20.

Spotrac has shown Kershaw at 3 years at $30+M since free agency opened. i doubt anyone actually believes that 1 at 20M would even open the door
