I agree
Foscue and Smith seem like they’re going to be very good major leaguers.
Duran is still debatable in my book.
He struggled pretty hard in A ball once he came over. Could have been a fluke rut due to the trade. Time will tell. He’s done well in the AFL though so it’s looking up.
There were lots of years around here where we would have been really excited to have guys like Hauver, Wendzel, Crim and Carter in our system. The great thing is because of guys like Smith, Foscue, Harris and Duran, those other guys are kind of "out of sight out of mind." It is a great position to be in.

The same can be said of our pitching. Even though they are closer, guys like Otto, Kent, Alexy, and Dunning are on the backburner in my mind. That is because of Leiter, Winn, Vanasco, White and Roby.

Being that we have so many talented prospects about to come up and the Front office wants to win now I could see us signing Marte on a 3 year deal and a pitcher like Desclafani on a 2 year deal with higher AAV than expected on the longer term deals.
Like Marte 3/$75 and Desclafani 2/$34
I would still like Story on a 6-7 and Suzuki on a 4-5 year deal.
Lock up Yan Gomez for 2 years.
Only surrender 1 draft pick.
Retain all prospects.
Trade some of the depth IKF, Trevino, Solak etc for more prospects that are further away from having to be added to the 40 man.. keep the crops growing down on the farm.

You’re right on that.
Looking back at previous top Rangers prospects it seems like our current top 10 is much better than I’ve ever witnessed.
Our old top 10 used to be equal to our current 11-20. IMO

the Front office wants to win
They want to be much better, but they have said they don't expect to be contenders in 2022.

I will add… I still believe in Leody Taveras and I think he will be very important to our club going forward. I would like to see him start off at AAA next year though and be the first guy called up in the event of an injury/underperformance.
I could see him having a decent 2nd half down the stretch next year then coming into 2023 ready to rock and roll.

It seems like a very slow morning around the league today.

Lol. I would like to see him traded to a team that feels like he is still going to be a good player.

Man, that would be tough to go through all the developing and growing pains with Leody just to ship him out right before he blossoms.
His speed and position at least merit a spot as a 4th of. I think he will be more than that though

A lot of tough decisions ahead. Talent does not always lead to necessary performance

We have a lot of 4th OF candidates coming through the system though.

too quick calling someone a 4th outfielder when we won't know that until we see them
Which is why I don’t want Marte. One more year of development is needed
