How do you feel about going after Starling Marte?
Or would you rather trade for a CF?
Or would you rather trade for a very athletic CF/RF and rotate Adolis and said player between CF & RF?

I likeBuxton and he better fits our window. Garcia is a definite option.
The younger the better especially in the OF

I like Adolis in RF because of his arm strength. He is capable of saving numerous runs with his arm and accuracy.

Since I'm bored at work, here are some stats (ages are their 2022 age)

Seager (28) - 636 G, 2710 PA, 718 H, 104 HR, .297 BA, 394 R, 364 RBI, .367 OBP, .504 SLG, .870 OPS (7 seasons)

Story (29) - 745 G, 3136 PA, 768 H, 158 HR, .272 BA, 463 R, 450 RBI, .340 OBP, .523 SLG, .863 OPS (6 seasons)

Correa (27) - 752 G, 3223 PA, 781 H, 133 HR, .277 BA, 438 R, 489 RBI, .356 OBP, .481 SLG, .837 OPS (7 seasons)

I'm gonna change my ranking from earlier and put Story as my #1 pick. He's 2 years older but has put up better stats in fewer seasons. BA is comparable to Correa, OPS is comparable to Seager, and he has the highest SLG.

I feel Josh Smith could be a CF.
He should hit well too.

I will wait for the reaction But if we have a lineup with a lot of contact hitters it might work out if the money is right to get Gallo back. He could play CF and we could bat him 6 or 7.

Hard pass for me. I have to assume that Gallo's defense is going to take a significant turn for the worse as he gets older, because of his size.

i would rather do the 2nd. maybe trade for Ketel Marte and sign Suzuki then play Adolis in LF, Marte in CF and Suzuki in RF.

it would cost to get Ketel but i think it would be worth it

I like Ketel Marte too, but it would cost quite a bit for a 1 year rental.

Wonder if Suzuki can play CF?

actually it would not be a one-year rental on Ketel there are club options for 2023 and 2024.

pretty much, yeah. although an argument can be made that even if we signed Correa, that shouldn't stop the Rangers from signing anyone else.

I'm probably an outlier here, but the only issue I have with the A-Rod contract is that the team didn't put any other pieces around him. he earned every bit of that salary while he was here.

I loved the ARod signing and hated what Hicks did afterwards. ARod produced and Hicks failed.

3 years of control is nice. Wouldn’t mind having him at all.
wonder what it would take to get him?
Curious if he’s a legit CF or just playing CF because that’s where they need him?

I would love to find some way to keep Foscue, Smith and Duran even if one or two had to play OF/DH. I think they are all going to be very good players. The more homegrown talent we put on the field the less we have to worry about paying a free agent too much. The less holes you have to fill with free agents, the more you can pay the few that you do sign.

I agree
Foscue and Smith seem like they’re going to be very good major leaguers.
Duran is still debatable in my book.
He struggled pretty hard in A ball once he came over. Could have been a fluke rut due to the trade. Time will tell. He’s done well in the AFL though so it’s looking up.

Ketel has played 2nd, SS and CF apparently with equal level of talent. it would take a boatload of players to get him so i would imagine we would have to start with pitching both starting and bullpen so i think Kolby Allard, A.J. Alexy, Spencer Patton and Brett Martin would have to be part of the opening offer and build from there
