Texas Rangers 2020-2021 Offseason Thread

I know the Rangers don’t want to buy free agents because they will block guys and the team isn’t ready but i do believe they have a little money to work with.
I wonder if we could be a salary dump zone for the Braves.. maybe the Rangers could take on Ender Inciarte and his $8 million Salary and he split time in CF with Taveras and possibly Will Smith and his $13 mil.. In return we could send Gallo and ?? Leclerc? Guzman? A Garcia?
The Braves would include 2 good prospects as well. Braves would get about $14 mil in salary relief so they could go after George Springer or Brantley or whoever they want.

It would be nice to land Drew Waters and one of their many pitching prospects.

I know the Braves need 2 Corner outfielders and possibly a 3B and a back up catcher.
They would be a scary team if they filled those 3 spots with above average players.

When Taveras is ready, I would not want him to split time with anyone.

Wouldn’t hurt to have a back up center fielder..
Gallo and Dahl can probably handle it but they’re both injury prone when playing all out like CF often requires

Both Elvis and Odor should learn to backup In CF. Both Desmond and DeShields went from the middle if the IF to CF.

Agree Scottie. It is pretty much understood that Odor has no place on this team. I think @saddles meant in a perfect world but I do not mean to speak for him.

The day Odor leaves the rangers, the celebration on this board might be the biggest one ever.

I mean nothing against the guy personally, he’s just deadweight on the field and we need him gone.

So far the country has distributed enough vaccines for about 10% of the population and about 50-60% of those have been administered.. so about 5-6 % of the population has got one so far..
Hopefully the country and the states and the cities can begin ramping those number up..
Cause honestly.. we gotta pump those up.. those are rookie numbers

My guess is Odor and Guz will be pretty insignificant but you are right. We need a couple of good RH bats.

Lol. No, I meant in a realistic world. No matter how much either of us have against those two, they are here to stay.

Not a fan of either of them taking up space out there.

They will be taking up space somewhere on the team. Mostly they would be taking up space in the bench. They have to back up in more than one place, so why not have CF as one of those spaces that they serve as a backup. If someone goes down for a prolonged period we could always bring someone up and still keep Odor or Elvis on the bench. We certainly don't need a prospect to sit the bench in case of injury.
