Texas Rangers 2020-2021 Offseason Thread

As it stands now, 1B 2B 3B are open for the taking. If 2023 is more or less the year to contend, then time is on our side. 1st and 3rd have more options than 2b for a sound starter. Solak is a question. Andrus and Odor are not imo on the list to start. So I would hope to see other names being considered at 2b.
Will be interesting to see how CY views things starting 2021. I see the next two years as time to be excited with a rebuild and anticipation of what is to come.

As for 2B..Maybe Justin Foscue tears it up this year and starts 2022 in AA with the hopes of being called up mid season.. by the time 2023 opening day comes maybe he will be the starter at 2B.

If the Rangers go after one of the premiere SS available in free agency next year then IKF might slide over to 2B if he has another good year this year.

In the mean time, Solak should start at 2B.

We have the fortune of having several options at first and time to find out which best fits. Guz is my hope if only he can work out hitting. CY is now charged with putting things together and let's see if he can make something happen.

I think the writing is on the wall for Guzman. He probably gets traded sometime soon.

I like Foscue as a hope in a couple of years but yes if we get a FA SS then we have more stopgap solutions at 2B. At some point I hope IKF is a utility player but we have a lot of improvement needed at practically every position

I have hopes for him being another Frank Catalanotto with better defense.

No need to rush him let him move thru the minors

Wasn’t worth rooting for wins anyway after they lost dak and the whole offensive line.

Who do y’all hope we get with that 2nd pick?
Or will it all change after the college baseball season is 4 months in?

They probably went from 4th to 10th in the draft because they won a couple of more games down the stretch. Losing today probably kept them from going to about 14th and from getting embarrassed in the first round.

It is really early yet. I did notice the first mock draft that showed us getting Rocker. All others have had him going first. This one picked Dallas Jesuit Jordan Lawlar going first overall instead.
