I agree. if we could trade Choo (eating a bunch of what's left on his contract) we could move Gallo to DH and put Calhoun in LF

You make a good point. The OF is a mess. DDJ has talent but is not what we want long term. We have Choo like it or not. Calhoun is blocked. Gallo and Maz are the only two who may have some trade value. Not suggesting we trade Joey. In an emergency he and IKF could hold down 3rd freeing up Calhoun long enough to see if he can help the team and save money on a short term FA. Not anything but an option but we don't have many. The OF is in a mess and needs major attention. Maybe something is coming down the pipe soon. JD is known for a surprise now and then.

I am thinking that eventually he will be the odd-man out, or rather one of them. The whole thing has a couple of years to play out. We may all change our minds a half dozen times between now and then.

I have followed our farm system for almost as long as the team has been here. I have never seen it this deep. We have at least 2 more drafts to go where we will get some very high picks. The list doesn't even include the guys we just got for Profar. This system of prospects is definitely something to be excited about.

It looks like those two guys picked up on Profar trade will eventually make 25 man roster. We have a sandwich pick to boot.

Even if the pitching plateaus as 2-5 we can buy an ace. Really current issue is the development of our young hitters all ready in the bigs. I like our future pitching group.
