Mack Brown says firing of Texas Longhorns defensive coordinator Manny Diaz not a sign of panic - ESPN
Brown dismissed any concerns that Robinson's defenses at Michigan in 2009 and 2010 ranked among the worst in the country.
"They had really bad players," Brown said.

Lol, let's break this down. The guy who just had BYU run 500+ yards up on them says that Michigan had bad players? Ok, well, let's look at the facts here.
From 2010 (Greg Robinson) to 2011 (Greg Mattison):
2010 (Greg Robinson):
Total Defense: #110
Passing Defense: #112
Rushing Defense: #95
Scoring Defense: #107
2011 (Greg Mattison):
Total Defense: #17
Passing Defense: #16
Rushing Defense: #39
Scoring Defense: #6
Here's the best part - Michigan returned basically the entire 2010 starting defense in 2011. Michigan returned 8/11 starters on defense. Of those, Kovacs and Mike Martin ended up being all big ten players. Cam Gordon is currently dominating this year as a senior and both Will Campbell and Craig Roh were very solid starters last season.
So enjoy Greg Mattison Texas. I'm sure he's going to be awesome at turning around your players that just gave up 500 yards rushing to BYU. Brown had a chance to really fix Texas' problems and instead I think he just sealed his fate. I would be shocked if he was not fired by season's end.
