You don't pinch hit anyone there, maybe Corp? Chirinos hasn't hit crap in 2 weeks

I doubt it would have mattered. Corporan sucks too. It doesn't matter who goes up there. If there's a man in scoring position, we shit the bed. Smo, Fielder, and Beltre.....Leonys could have just sat down on 2B indian style.

Probably true, but I would have rather seen someone else. I had seen enough of Cheerio sucking tonight

The way the team is playing now really makes me wonder if Bogar was the difference or was that run with him at the helm just a coincidence.

Daniels is probably thinking the same thing right now.

If he hired Bogar we'd know the answer to that question.

From what I've seen, I think Bogar is a better manager.

Bogar was Arkansas AA manager for 1 year before he went to be Wash bench coach last year. He wasn't exceptional here but AA is more instructional and Bogar was not only used to young players ... he got to be the bench coach for 3/4 of the season before taking over. I think the management change made it much better environment and the team played will for him.

We all have gripes about certain players, coaches or the manager when they are losing. Since this is a player development year ... might be better to have a manager who puts guys in the best position to learn first. Bannister is trying to win with a lineup that needs better coaching ... and that's lacking.

Having Darvish and Holland healthy would make little difference right now. This team as currently constructed cannot score runs. Young guys are going to have to get ready soon or Daniels is going to have to find a way to get some pieces for the lineup than can provide some production.

I just don't understand how a MLB team can be this bad night in and night out collectively and it not have something to do with what the hitting coach is preaching

we jut plain stink in every aspect of the game: hitting, pitching and defense. and there is no help

I do not want to pile on Banister but I really liked Bogar. I had zero complaints about all his moves he made and the team seemed like it had been given an injection of life. Plus he had great success as a manager at the minor league level so he had some experience. I hope for our sakes Banister turns out to be a really good manager as well. But having a story and trying to inspire people or reminding someone of Clint Hurdle does not automatically make you a good manager. Just means you could make a good motivational speaker and I sure do not want Joel Osteen as manager or anything else for that matter. But this team seems like it was last year where they just seem to be going thru the motions.

If we had any offense at all we would probably be at 500 or better.

Actually, the pitching has been decent.... outside of Detwiler, Scheppers, Klein, Verrett & Feliz.
Didnt include Holland or Ranaudo -- as they were 1 game starters.

The rest of the staff -- Gallardo has the highest ERA at 4.05.

Average & OPS for all positions (Most ABs... split up the blame when others have had more than 10 ABs)

C- .175 & .681 (Chirinos/Corporan) - OPS isn't bad bc they've hit some HRs and taken some walks
1B- .286 & .801 (Fielder/Moreland)
2B- .145 & .535 (Odor)
3B- .208 & .663 (Beltre)
SS- .225 & .550 (Andrus)
LF- .156 & .549 (Smolinski/Rua/Peggy)
CF- .241 & .597 (Martin)
RF - .121 & .487 (Choo/Smolinski)
DH- .304 & .708 (Fielder/Moreland)

Only good thing right now is Andrus is actually playing pretty well. He's hitting the ball and seems like he has some idea what he's doing up there.

All I can say is a healthy Hamilton cannot hurt the situation in LF or RF at this point

I listened to the press conference yesterday and have heard and read a lot of conversation about it. Myself, I came away from it wishing Josh would have been a bit more humble and apologetic. I think he dropped the ball in those aspects. I didn't go into the presser with the attitude that he had to say something special to make me a fan again though. I think that is because I never felt anywhere near the ill will towards him as some have.

I did enjoy Michael Young's interview on The Fan yesterday regarding Josh returning to the club especially when asked about the suggestion that Josh had quit on the team.

I have no idea what Josh gives us, but I will say again that I think JD made an excellent move here. The risk is very low and there is some significant upside possibilities.

One aspect that I never heard mentioned was the chance that if he does do well that we could trade him. I wonder if he has a no trade clause. Not that that is going to come into play this year, but I wonder what the possibility is in the future.

With the acquisition of Hamilton, I wonder if Rua might see some time at 2B & 3B to offset some of the time he'll lose to Hamilton in the OF.

Nice play on words.

I can't imagine Hamilton going anywhere else after here. Regardless of what his contract calls for.

Excellent question.

Has he any experience at SS? If he has we can let Rosales go, and let him be a super utility player for now anyway.

Not a big fan of not giving him regular ABs though.

I really hope he gets to play everyday in Round Rock until someone up here goes down with an injury. Now if Odor continues to struggle and they decide to send him down then I would be all for Rua playing 2B on an everyday basis.
