Most will get used to it. Some won't. For me it is more about all the crap that Dan has done over the years. How do you keep rooting for such a turd.

I couldn't stop if I tried. Can't tell you how big of a deal it was for me as a ten year old to ride into RFK with my late dad and see that sloped roof with the columns off in the distance.

No TV screen. Just the digital board with the two hands clapping. The big Budweizer sign in the endzone. That big black clock in the corner. The band in full head dress playing HTTR.

Redskins is in my blood and Commanders will be the closest thing I have to that.

I echo these sentiments, and add the following:

as the games were sold out for my childhood, it was not that easy to get a ticket. This made a trip to RFK even more special.

My folks weren't exactly swimming in cash in those days either. It wasn't like we had a lot of disposable income around for trips to RFK.




It's a sad state of affairs that somebody who grew up rooting for the redskins has bungled the affairs of the team he reports to love so badly, that the ardent fans from back in the glory days are now jumping ship.

Same here. My dad had a friend that owned a limousine company. We only got tickets when he didn't want to go. That being said those tickets were located in the press box most of the time! Sweet seats with your program waiting for you in your chair.

That's why the Cowboys game I went to was my first time seeing the Cowboys. We NEVER got Cowboys tickets in the 80s and 90s.

I am no different. A neighbor gave my dad two tickets to a Redskin game in 69. We went to a game against Philadelphia. I remember being in awe of everything. I saw other games. One more with my dad. I have rooted for this team since 64 and they were not good then but going to RFK was incredible.

I remember the hope when Lombardi was signed then losing him to cancer. George Allen and the Ramskins and good football teams and of course the Gibbs era. It hasn't been good since and it really went to shit when Snyder bought the team. It was all a long time ago.
