Today I saw that Northwestern star senior RB Venric Mark (who only was able to play in three games this season due to injuries) might attempt to pursue medical redshirt status in order to come back to Northwestern to play next season.

Does Taylor Martinez also possibly qualify for a medical redshirt, and if so, would Pelini want him back for another extra season?

He's shy....

He is never gonna be the guy jumping around with teammates on the sideline. He's just a quiet humble guy.

Also, how in theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hell do you expect him to just travel to Michigan and stand on the sideline? What kind of fantasy world do you live in?

Starting QB, Team Captain doesn't make trips even injured? Team needs him if he is a 'captain'

According to reports, due to travel roster limitations, the team wanted to bring a few extra OL to Michigan just in case. Spencer Long requested to make the trip since it would be his last time. So Jamal Turner and Taylor gave up their spots on the travel roster for him. And someone said that Taylor's bro Drake had surgery on Friday and Taylor wanted to be there for him.

Assuming all that is true, can't fault Taylor for not going and sounds more like a good teammate to give way to other players on the team for the experience.

Also, right on schedule, Taylor's dad never missing a chance to talk to the media told the AP that his son's season is more than likely over.

You mean like Spencer Long did? Hmm, got no idea.

They had a waiver for Spencer Long. He didn't count against the 70. They never requested one for Jamal or Taylor.

Didn't hear about the surgery, if so, so be it but it's rather strange that all of the sudden we have all these injuries, illnesses and now family emergencies.

Either way I don't care, let's just move on.

Looking into the waiver? Pretty sure Bo said in his interview Monday they had a waiver for Long for a while but never applied for one for Martinez or Turner.

Rumor has it Taylor is done for the year so he can get 100% healthy, be ready for the combine and get drafted higher and thus make more money next year as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He doesn't want to be the next Marcus Lattimore.
