96.1% chance we pick 11th.

2.4% chance we pick 12th.

1.5% chance we pick 1st.

Unless Nurse drops, my defenseman choices are Pulock and Morrissey.

What are your thoughts on the Finnish kid Ristolainen?

I'll just on the record now and say I have seen practically none of these kids play, and my analysis is just from reading about them.

Ristolainen would be an awesome pickup, is definitely take him over Pulock and Morrissey. He is just what we need, really. Nice PMD, and he allegedly is a bit mean too.

He could fall, but I bet he goes at #9 or #10.

Then we trade up. We should be able to move up, no?

We could definitely move up with the lower round picks that we have, but IMO if we move up it will be for Nurse, not Ristolainen.

I still advocate trading up for Jones since it will be the cheapest a franchise defenseman will ever be, but I'm not counting on it.

I wish we could trade Briere instead of buying him out. Who would be fooolish enough to do this unless there is a team who needs to reach the cap floor? Furthermore, his NTC. Oh well it a shitty contract that will be history soon.

I honestly think Homer will hang on to Briere.
Bryz will be bought out.

I tend to agree. The Briere buyout talk is 100% fabricated by the fans and media. Management has given zero indication that they are going to buy him out. There's a really, really good chance they might do it, but I have a gut feeling they hold on to him and use their buyouts elsewhere.

Also, I wouldn't be opposed to trading up to get the #1 overall if a team is willing to trade it. Seth Jones would change this defense's future exponentially.

Wonder what it would take to get the #1 overall? My guess is a lot. Probably our 1st, one of Schenn/Coots, and a later round pick as well.

i dont think it's worth it to trade up for jones.. i dont think the player the flyers will get at 11/12 will be a whole 'sean couturier' worse than jones.. if that makes any sense to anyone other than me?

pulock and morrissey (didn't know him til 4706 pointed him out) are the guys i want.. from what i've read, risotlain seems like more of a shutdown guy to me and the flyers have plenty of those.. nurse seems kinda the same way too, but i dont think there's any way he makes it out of the top 6 or 7 anyway

He'd be a reach at 11th overall, but why do I feel like our front office would love a tough 'lil Canadian bastard by the name of Max Domi?

i wouldn't hate a max domi selection. i'd rather take morrisey or pulock there, but as far as forwards go, if the draft goes as everyone expects, i dont think domi would be a bad pick there

Just checked his stats, 87 points in 64 GP. A lot better than I thought, and he is a center. He is such a stereotypical Flyer pick. Now I feel like we are going to get him.

Frankly though, I hope be falls to the Leafs. Now that Toronto is back in the playoffs it would just be so nostalgic and beautiful.

yep.. he fits it pretty well.. only thing he's lacking is size (5'9) otherwise i'd be willing to guarantee the flyers picking him
