Wasn't sure where to post this but I'm not to familiar w Darnell Nurse. The only thing I do know is that if he is even remotely as athletic as his uncle Donovan, we better get a good look at this kid. His stock is rising quickly.

Of course Seth Jones is the prized gem of draft eligible defensemen this year, but think of Nurse as this year's Dougie Hamilton. That would be an awesome pick.

I'm fearing that we pick Zadorov or Monahan, however.

I read an article on Nurse and would be very happy to get him.

really wouldn't like a zadorov pick.. monahan i'm so so on.. lindholm, nurse, jones, and drouin are my top 4 'desired' (in no particular order).. i want some flashy offensive guy regardless of position.. i'm tired of all the physical '2-way' guys and defensive dmen

Can we realistically get ay of these guys with our draft number falling with every win.

I still really want Nichushkin. Enough with stereotypical Flyer draft picks, please.

russian's scare me. to use that pick on a guy that doesn't come over for multiple years, a la kuznetzov for washington or radulov in nashville.. man that would be devastating.

Radulov is of course the worst case scenario, but I'm pretty sure I've seen that Kuznetzov is coming over after the Olympics next year. And then of course there is Tarasenko, who has shown he was definitely worth the wait.

I'm totally ready to wait two years for Nichushkin.

Are you sure you meant Tarasenko was definately worth the wait. He only had 8 goals and 5 of them in his first 7 games.

even if he does come over after the olympics next year, they drafted him 3 years ago.. i dont wanna risk waiting 4 years for a guy when he's a top 10 pick in a supposedly very deep draft. they can get someone of pretty comprable talent that will be in the NHL in less than 2 years, possibly less than 1.

i would prefer they not take nichuskin, but that's just me.

He has cooled down, but I'll take a .5 PPG rate from a rookie. (Albeit an overager)

I guess it depends on who is left, and where we ultimately end up picking. Everything could change Monday.

Any chance we will get an impact player for next season or are we in a position to draft for the future.

i think there's a strong chance if a forward is drafted, he can make the team next year.. i think a dman is a year or two off (aside from jones who can probably make an NHL squad next year)

I'd say at this point, unless we trade up or win the lottery, our pick likely won't be playing for us next year.

EDIT: Looks like we may disagree, awaz. :)

so it does! it just seems like there's a lot of elite talent out there this year. should certainly be interesting. i'm WAY more interested in the draft lottery on monday, than i am the actual draft tonight.

Hold onto that glimmer of hope. I can only imagine my freakout if we win it Monday.
