i would be intrigued by richards if the rags do buy him out.. the flyers just dont have the cap space, even if he got like 2 mil
unless he can play defence or net-fuck him!

Ryan Hartman (Plymouth, OHL): A projected second-round pick, Hartman is a little "ball of hate" power forward in the mold of someone like Pat Verbeek, Kevin Dineen or Steve Downie. He may stand just 5-foot-11 and weigh 185 pounds but he plays like a tasmanian devil in the way he forechecks and stirs up trouble both between and after the whistles. Let's put it this way: Hartman plays more of a traditional power forward style than many big finesse forwards who are classified with that designation based solely on their size. Hartman has a low center of gravity and no one underestimates his pound-for-pound strength twice. He's hard to take off the puck and, in fact, often separates much larger players from the disc. Originally a product of the US National Team Development Program, Hartman moved to the OHL this past season. He's not a natural goal scorer but tallies a lot of gritty goals around the net and has an extra skating gear in key situations. His defensive play is adequate but could stand improvement. The biggest challenge for him may be walking the discipline line because he's the type of player who needs to push the envelope to be effective and yet also has to cut back on the number of bad penalties he takes.

getting back to the draft a little.. i really liked what i saw of hartman at world juniors.. thought he was one of the US's better players

IMO I'd rather they get some forwards that have skill, but also some size.
Giroux,Briere,Laughton,Read,Wellwood(if/when plays) are all under 6'0 ft.They can only take so many hits.
giroux is a rugged dude and throws the body and hitting might be laughton's best attribute.. plus they have simmonds and hartnell that play that game.. plus the 4th line guys.. IMO they need more skill than they do size.. same as on the back-end
JMO though
Awaz did you really just put into writing that giroux is a rugged dude and throws the body. Thanks i needed that it's a slow day.
he is man.. he doesn't do it all the time, but the hit on crosby in the playoffs last year isn't the only time he's thrown a check.. i have 0 concerns about giroux's ability to withstand checking
having a team full of pulverizers doesn't win hockey games any more. thats just a fact.

Nobody here is debating the fact that having a team of pulverizers doesnt win games anymore so i dont know why you put that in your post but the fact that you actually have convinced yourself that Giroux is a rugged player concerns me. Have you been having martini's for lunch today if so i say cheers . Giroux doesnt throw hits and other teams dont hit him out of respect of his ability, if he tried to play the checking game his top rated skill would be diminished considerably.Having size and skill is a way better route to winning in the playoffs as boston is proving again this year.
I thought Dan Boyle is a UFA? I wouldn't mind bringing him in.
My feeling is we stand pat this season unless Homer swings for the fences which i doubt. a guy like Boyle would cost too much, i think we have defenseman that may have to start earning their salaries this season and i think they will with a new fresh puck moving goalie.
I was thinking it may make sense to kick the tires in San Jose. Maybe they will break up the Thornton, Marleau combo.
Id love Boyle for the right price. Move Coburn and sign Boyle?
I think Marleau would be amazing in Philly
Going to watch the railhawks get destroyed by the La galaxy. Good timess
