Once again, Teeny does next to nothing, but is a major focus of the edit. Based on gameplay, I would say she has no chance. But based on edit, she is running away with this thing…

I never really liked Gabe’s edit. We always saw other players talking about him being a threat, but we rarely got to see HIS thoughts, or see him actually do anything game-wise.

My current rankings (look at the groups more than the actual order)

Teeny

Rachel
Andy
Genevieve

Caroline

Sue
Kyle
Sam

Based on edit, Teeny should win this. Based on shown game play, I would go with Rachel or Genevieve. Maybe Kyle due to his challenge domination. Andy is making a nice comeback, but he still appears to be more of the doofus than an actual contender. Sam is trying, but while he really isn’t able to get any footing. Caroline is getting a purple-tint to her edit.

They did vote out the right person. Hated seeing that player go though. I still dont know who are the strongest alliances right now. Sue and Caroline are tight , but Sue may feel a little betrayed now.

Idols - im not sure i have ever seen a player have an idol this long and nobody else knows about it or suspects it.

it was the optimal person to go home for everyone except Sue and Kyle...

i actually disagree... with your order... i get that you base it on the edit... and you are much better than i am at reading the edit...

But i have Caroline as the favourite...

like i said previously, i can see all 8 winning... they all have good narratives so far...

but if i had to rank it

1. Caroline
2. Rachel
3. Teeny
4. Sam
5. Andy
6. Kyle
7. Genevieve
8 Sue

She is playing a decent poker game. She is staying NEAR the action, but not putting any targets on herself so she makes it far. She hasn’t driven the bus at all yet, even just with the edit.

But the producers need the season’s winner to be believable for the audience. And she just doesn’t get near enough screen time to make the average viewer feel the right person won (if she were able to pull this thing out). Of the final 8, I think she is getting the least screen time and I don’t think she has ever been shown as a major player OR a major sympathetic figure.

but teeny is your number one entirely based on the edit... cant say her game play has been anything special... her biggest game play is that she no longer trusts genevieve...

I only have her as a top 3 because of the path i see... otherwise she would be bottom feeder... like sue...

Exactly. She is doing nothing in game, but she is getting a lot of diary time talking about how she sees things and how her strategies are playing out. The producers are going out of their way to make sure the viewer sees that she is playing, even if she isn’t, actually playing. And you get more about what she thinks than you get about how others think about her.

Gabe was a major player only because everyone said he was. We never actually saw him do anything or heard directly from him. He was framed as an antagonist, not a protagonist. You saw how others viewed him (3rd person), not how he viewed the game (1st person).

i disagree about gabe.. i think i posted 2 weeks ago saying that him and genevieve were the 2 most "MOB BOSS" like...

i saw something in gabe... not sure whether it was the edit or not... but i saw it... you even saw this week... when Sam was waivering... Gabe was the loudest one to convince him otherwise...

again, i dont really understand the science behind predicting the winner based on the edit... so i am not saying you are wrong...

i can only judge the way i see it... i also do admit, i project a lot in these shows... i assume people do their optimum moves, and those moves are what i believe are best... once players start playing stupidly, i dont like them anymore...

which may be why i had such a blind spot on Kenzie winning last season....

Totally agree on Gabe. Ive looked at him as a big time player pretty much the whole season.

I just try to follow the narrative the producers are trying to tell. I never got the feel that we were ever able to watch the game out of Gabe’s eyes. We saw him move from afar. We got a a 3rd person POV on his game play. Meanwhile, we are constantly getting Teeny’s commentary on how things are unfolding. We also get some of that with Rachel as well, but Rachel is actually playing, so that makes more sense. Since teeny isn’t actually doing anything, but her perspective is still getting forced on us, that is why she is sticking out like a sore thumb in the edit. There is no narrative reason to give Teeny a 1st person POV edit unless we are supposed to be pulling for her at the end.

i agree... but is anyone getting an actual bad edit?? maybe they are just focusing on Teeny because of "other" reasons... like this episode, she was talking about her identity...

you have complained before how these shows force the social narratives... like Andy's mental health...

the rest of the cast is pretty vanilla...

Possibly the most lopsided random draw for a reward.

Something is going on with Sues face. She looks worse and worse every week.

Teeny - ok, I hate to say this but I have looked at her as being a female the whole time. She spoke of an identity crisis and now she said she came out of the closet. I usually dont read bios , but i did hers. She dressed like boy when she was younger apparently. I really just saw her / he as a bubbly personality. I get confused on that stuff. As far as her gameplay - i havent seen her do much of anything strategically on her own. The camera sure seems to love her though.

Shot in the dark -props to Sam for the way he played that , I guess eventhough the whole tribe now is out of that possible play. It really kind of showed how hungry they must be, which takes me back to the fishing gear. Is it really that big of an award ? I never see anyone use it anymore. Not just this season , but most of the previous seasons lately.

The vote. It amazes me how they all manage to get on the same page.

Andy is making a push, but im just not sure the rest of the tribe will ever view him as sole survivor.

Sam is trying to play, but he just cant seem to find allies right now. He did screw over Rachel, so i understand her trust with him.

Im going Gen vs Rachel right now, unless Caroline can come out of nowhere.
I'm not a fan of anything random, becuase your entire game life can be down to a 'luck of the draw'.

Why not have a quick 5-10' challenge (solve a slide puzzle, stack cards to the highet level in 5', etc.) to determine 'captains' then have schoolyard picks.
This gives you an idea on how badly someone views their loyalty versus just wanting to win a reward challenge.
And who is at the bottom.

As for the shot in the dark, I think Sam should have stood his ground. He should have pointed out that the folks at the top were the most comfortable with giving up something they don't ever plan on using. If they feel that comfortable, then just sit out the challenge. Sam should have bartered for something there from the group.

I think Rachel and Sue's idols might have game changing consequences with how everything shakes out now.

possible.

But Survivor has only “sacrificed” the season in favor of the social narrative once (the guy who was kicked off the show for being “creepy” right in the middle of the “Me Too” movement). Giving this heavy of an edit to Teeny just for the identity issue doesn’t feel right to me. They have already had trans players on the show. They have had probably 30% + LGBTQ+ representation each season since the “new era” started. There is nothing special about Teeny in that regard that they haven’t already covered multiple times before.

its more about the rest of the cast.... they all seem very vanilla... also not very diverse...

besides game, i dont think anyone left has a good story to tell about their struggles... not that they dont have any... but the story needs to at least be different...

it looks to me

Rachel- middle class jewish girl-
Caroline- young woman who hasnt lived life
Sue- strong grandma type who doesnt want to be seen as a strong grandma
Sam- sheltered man who hasnt gone outside of his comfort zone, has not eaten foods that most children have tried
Kyle- typical "white trash" with a good soul
Gen- quirky but not crazy white woman

only Andy and Teeny have a story worth telling IMO... and that could easily be why they are focused on most...

Possible. But as for Teeny, while it was obvious she was “all woman” from the start, this was the first time they said anything about it. If they were doing all that setup with her just for that quick drop this week, that is a really bad pander job.

Again, I could be completely wrong, but I see her edit as ”game related”. Of course, the producers are more and more aware that people are watching their edit, so they very well may be making her a red herring.

:noidea:

i agree its more pandering... but again, who else are they going to highlight?? i guess if we find out anything interesting about any of the other castmembers, we can come back to this point and say it had to be game related...

i think for the producers this was the worst top 11 they could have had... once Rome went home, they lost a lot...

Is Teeny the only gay contestant this season? I mean i never knew she was gay until the other night.

LOL

i am purposely over generalizing... thats how producers look at it IMO.... so none of this HAS to be true... its just perception

but you asked so i will answer

Sierra- Typical pretty girl( seeing Teeny's face when she came out this week was very funny)
Sol- Typical asian american( too american not enough asian)
Gabe- looked diverse, but he didnt look like he had a clear minority to focus on

That yellow dress did look good. I actually thought Teeny was looking at Sol.
